Buy one myself? nope
It's in a closet if I need it. :)
EDIT:
I forgot to mention why I got it in the first place. If NCO and Captain didn't give it away, military service. That's why.
They work a lot better for impromptu fixes or needing to open things. A lot easier to carry a multi-tool or Swiss army knife than a separate set of screwdrivers, bottle openers, knives, pliers. toothpicks, files, saws, scissors, and so on.
Even if your paid daily, that's an expensive pocket knife. Then again with todays cost of living maybe it isn't. I remember first getting a swiss army knife when i joined the army cadets. Certainly was more useful than my bayonet.
But the law has a few "gotchas". For a pocket knife to be legal to carry without good reason it must be less than 3 inches long (7.62 cm) and non-locking.
Being non-locking it basically means if you tried to stab something (or someone) the blade would probably close and cut your own fingers off (don't try it, it'll hurt).
You are allowed to carry knives with a longer blade but in those instances you need a good reason to have it. For example, it's necessary for your job (think fisherman). Moving antiques etc.
Although there are some areas where even those instances are not allowed, but it's not national.
Of course, using any knife in a threatening or abusive manner is still very much illegal. But assuming you're sensible with it and/or have good reason to have it or keep to a simple non-locking pocket knife, you're fine.
the EDC I've had now for almost 5 years now is a Sog Vulcan. Excellent knife I recommend it.

Edit: I also carry a leatherman's wave (not the +) multi tool which has everything in it
