Im so sick and tired of greedy artists trying to halt AI Art
AI Art is the ultimate equalizer in the sense that it allows anyone to put in a description of what they want and then they get that, or something near enough.

It's fantastic for users. It gets rid of needing to commission every little thing saving $$ for the average bob. Not everyone is made of money to be paying artists tons of money for a picture that might take days to make when you can just roll the generator a few times and get something of equal if not better quality than the artist themselves.

The "compromise" argument is also hilarious. Anyone who pays an artist OR uses a generator is compromising because they're relying on a third party to make their vision.

AI Art Good. Greedy Artist bad. :)

Unfortunately, people can whine, complain, ban, censor, witch hunt, and try to sue all they want, but the genie is out of the bottle, so to speak, machine learning is open source and FREE, and will only get exponentially better as time goes on.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the machine-learning-generated art I see right now when it comes to doing something like a Western-style cartoon character. But I can see the writing on the wall for the future, especially with more generic or "samey" art styles like anime stuff.

Right now the bans and censorship on art sites are causing more harm to the "artistic community" than the actual "A.i." art is in the form of "witch hunts" and "cancel culture" just like the advent of popular "digital art" tools/programs, where someone screams "THIS LOOKS LIKE AI ART!!! BAN IIIIIIIIIT!!!! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!" and they then ban and censor an artist because something "looked like" it "could be" machine learning made art even when it is NOT.

Sites are losing real artists because people "think" their art "might be" done by machine learning programs.

Machine learning art programs will not break into a traditional artist's house and threaten to kick their teeth in if they don't go AI. They can still be traditional artists and do traditional art and get people commissioning them for said traditional art.

If you make your money off commissions for generic "furry pron husbandos" or generic "big boobie anime waifus" then you better have a good and professional relationship with your current "regular" commissioners, and treat them well, because competition will be heating up in the near future. Say goodbye to your $200+ YCH commissions.

Really, from what I can see, the only "Artists" that need to worry are generic and mediocre artists that need to make money from that type of art. Basically "Cal Arts" style CORPO artists/graphic designers... And Anime artists that all have similar styles because they learned how to art from the same "how to draw anime" books.

Maybe start looking for a day job, or get into a trade like an electrician, plumber, HVAC technician, Auto mechanic, Robotics Repair, computer hardware and network installation and management, or something else that will not be easily replaceable by machine learning.

Honestly, I never pegged the artistic "community" as being so "conservative". Screaming about "Dey took R jobs!"

Usually, artists jump at the chance for "progressive" new mediums, new forms of expression, and new tools for art.

They can talk about "soul" and "heart" all they want, nothing is stopping them from making their art with "soul" and "heart".

What they should be saying is that A.I. art will possibly hurt their "wallet". And while that sucks, it is gonna be what it is gonna be.

When it comes down to it, adapt and deal with it, because it isn't going away. History shows that the "Luddites" never win, no matter how much they complain or try to break/ban things. :marten_sip:
So many words and you didn't even mention that AI proompters were harassing artists and threaten them that they are done. I was ignoring AI because i wasn't interested, but aibros were so hostile and annoying that i can't consider them anything other than petty losers. If they wouldn't be petty losers, they would not harrass artists, they would simply play with their AI.

"Work as plumber" - would you drop a job that you really love... just to go work that nobody proud of, get less money than you used to and have less time to spare on your favorite dream job? You are either insane or you work as plumber yourself and you want to drag more succesful people to your level. And call people who don't want to switch their loved job to something they dislike luddites.

There are always gonna be d-bags that abuse the system, just like they did with photoshop and such.

I wanted to be a geologist, then decided to become an auto mechanic instead when geology wasn't paying the bills. And maybe you might want to look up the amount of money a plumber can make first, I guarantee it is more than the average waifu artist. :neonp:

I care not about what job will give me more money, i care about what job will let me live better. I gonna live better if i love my job rather than if job pays me more, but i dislike it.

That sounds like a "you" problem. I wish you the best of luck with that. :cleanseal:

Thank you, but i am sure most people are thinking like that. If one doesn't has a passion for their hobby, then they will not be able to make a living from it.

Honestly… AI is pretty nice. Now I get to hear more songs from Tupac and Juice World.

I understand that reasoning but in the meantime this looks less and less possible as the time goes and as the population grows because you are successfull when others cannot.

OP is only saying this as AI does not threaten their living.
For now.

everyone is getting replaced at some point, its natural and a good thing
its quite simple
artist has to be paid royalties if their art is used to teach an ai, every picture the ai makes derived from it means payment to the artist for contributing to the derivative work

like example 1 cent per ai picture generated or 1/20 cent or whatever it works out to

most art on the internet is accessable for free tho and AI doesnt feed on ppls private data.. if people had to pay they would just solely use free images and ignore all paid ones

Artists (not only the one who draw, but every kind of them) will not be replaced - because commission something worthy from artist is luxury by its very defenition.

Why would anyone pay to get drawing of something that exist in real world when they can just take photo of this?
Why would people commission artists who don't have such impressive render AI image generators already have?
Why popular people get more money than less popular ones for similar quality works?
Why do people hire drummers when drum-machines exist?
Because for such kind of things you are not interested in simply getting results as cheap and fast as possible.

Look at how many there is dirty, hard and dangerous jobs where people WEREN'T replaced by robots and AI - but for some reason AI, that doesn't directly affect quality of life of anyone, is directed towards creating images. Because people who support so called progress don't care about using that effort to actually improve quality of people's life.

When people share their artwork, it's not because they want other people to make money out of it.

Videogames and movies also not a private data - but if you copy it without permission, then you are a pirate.

then no problem go ahead share your art
the artist who doesnt want to share can be paid royalities or deny the ai models use of their pictures for training
mfw artists are called greedy when they don't want a tool that anyone can use to put them out of a job to proliferate.
Wasn’t there a person who made an AI Model of the famous V-Tuber Mori Calli and made her into his girlfriend? Not gonna lie but Mori is kinda bad tho….
