Do you listen to christian music?
I have some. Occasionally I listen to it.

Anyone else like the occasional bit of christian music?

I don't like being preached to so I avoid it.

Well I do like the whole Messiah, but the Hal chorus is what you usually hear on the radio in December, because it is about the length of a pop song.

Most of it is pretty painfully boring and monotonous. I'm a bass guitarist and stood in playing for a contemporary Christian band at a few services and musically speaking it's God awful to play, pun intended. I ended up letting another guy borrow another bass and amp of mine for a couple years actually, so I didn't get guilt tripped into having to play. You couldn't pay me to play or listen to it. Nothing wrong with good ole hymns and sermons and you don't need to justify creating terrible and repetitive Christian music just because it praises God. That's no excuse for making music that's this bad

Pardon the pun but God no. Why on earth would I?

If I wanted to listen to music about myths I'd pick something a bit more interesting.

I'd like to see rock songs about Vikings and Vallhalla
There's tons of them since the dawn of heavy rock. Ever heard of Immigrant Song by a tiny little band called Led Zeppelin?

Opening track of the third album. Not my favourite album of theirs but a well known track.

Of course, there's tons of other tracks and a few more from them that mention Valhalla and viking or nordic mythery, as well as other forms of mystical or mythical stuff - ever heard Stairway to Heaven?

One of my favourite prog rock tunes that detail mythology is by early Marillion - Grendel. A classic track that tells the tale of Beowulf from the monster, Grendel's, point of view.

Fish is a fantastic lyricist.

When I was young I did the same thing. I guess it was some of my early performances- and as eager as I was... Wow was the music, plain, boring, weak, badly written, clumsy, forced...

And some of that was when I was trying to double down on religion thinking that I just wasn't trying hard enough. No, even then, that music was just plain bad.

And don't get me started on just how bad the average hymn is... That's a whole other discussion.
