Are the 80s overrated?

It is a subjective matter, most of us are biased by nostalgia and those that are not, are obviously biased towards their modern counterpart.

Most people you ask, will tell you that their kid/teen years were the best (no matter the generation) that is because, it is in that time period that many have great memories and all the "growing up" just adds a splash of nostalgia, most people long for their teen years.


I remember when my grandparents told me that kids were spoiled and would ruin the future generation etc.. now we say that same about the teens.. I mean.. have you heard modern music?? what the heck is wrong with them.. (that is how I know I am old now)

the movies ? maybe , the music ? no ...

a good part of it is still very decent and a lot's of modern music being made are still inspired from those years. if peoples keep bringing up distintive elements from the 80's music today then it's mean the 80's had something going for it.

I was not around in the 80s. There are some movies I like and some music though. The fashion looks mostly forgettable, there was no internet and the video games were basic. Maybe the people doing the overrating are senior citizens >.<

I mean the 80s gave us retrowave aesthetic and inspired some EDM songs so idk.

I love 80s-inspired music, so if nothing else, the genres from the time were responsible for today's greatness.

Don't get me wrong, there are some 80s bangers, but the modern 80s-inspired music isn't limited by the novelties of synth music and builds upon the foundations, creating something truly wonderful.

As for movies, I have no idea, I don't watch them.

As for anything else, I am not a history person, and I don't like old technology (it's primitive and hard to work with), but at least there wasn't nearly as much surveilleance.

80s are garbage, but becuase of nostalgia most of these ppl will just deny it and call everything old "better"....
There is nothing where the 80s is actually any better... and if you like 80s music you can just listen it now on youtube or whatever other place...

but what is more surprising is that even my mom agrees with me... 80s are overrated....

And then we have THESE ppl from the 80s who are like "phones trash ,old times better becuase they did not exist"... what is fun about these ppl is that THEY ARE TYPING THAT FROM A PHONE....

Seriously, nostalgia can be ok but NOT in excessive amounts...
