Not sure if you noticed, but Season 3 was pretty long - 25 episode I think.
As I said before, since they're not claiming health problems or whatever for Professor actor, his mid-season departure was probably due to wanting to adding Maggie who is younger and probably added what they considered to be a more attractive female than Wade to the cast. (Oh.. duh... or maybe they wanted a 2-female 2-male cast... see immediately below.)
Wade's departure lined up with the switch from FOX to SyFi, so that probably gave her the chance to ask for more money. My guess is that the writers decided to kill her off, and she just wanted more money for the "kill Wade off" episode she refused to do for whatever amount of money they offered her, but since she probably didn't have a contract, maybe the actress (actually, in the RL, the actress's agent) wanted too much money to stay on.
BTW... if you want to see what I consider to the extreme example of an actor wanting too much money (at least among the shows I know... largely Sci-fi) check out Smallville. After Season 5 when almost all TV contracts are up, the lead actor kept wanting more and more money until only the he and one other member of the cast remained. The the remaining cast member was (I think) the only one that wasn't actually based on a DC comic-book character, so she was probably the one working for lowest amount of money being far more expendable than all the other characters they did away with. Seriously... "Smallville" without Ma and Pa Kent, Lois Lane or Lex Luthor? Sorry for the spoiler, but yup, they did it.
I looked it up on the international movie database and enjoyed a review stating if you want to watch it, buy the first two season set, which I just did, and never watch the next three seasons. Will do.
So if you want to watch it 6 years from now, you just need to upgrade to MS-Windows 16.3?
(Or did you do the safe thing and get it on DVD?)
I just watched that episode... if you're curious, it's the first episode of Season 4, which is also the first episode that was broadcast on Sci-Fi after it left FOX.
Update: I idioticly (dyslexicly actually) wrote "Season 1" before. It's the start of Season 4.
Also does the Kromagg thing mean they bonked his mum? I think they found her in a breeding camp so I guess that is true.
Wade became a head in a box
This mom, which was not his biological mom, was in capture. Not in a breedingcamp. I think eventually she was killed (off-screen)
I mustn't have remembered it right, I thought she and Wade, and a few others were in breeding camps where the Maggs bred with human females.
According to this recap Wade was at one point in a breeding camp

I'm sorry. It's so out of context for me since I haven't seen the TV show
But it wasn't just the gate. They not found it suspicious that O.J. was being tried for murder, and a ball game playoff was also suspicious. But on top of that, the biggest was actually that one of the teams was playing from the wrong city. The fact that all 3 appeared on the first page (and only page) of a newspaper Remy read was pretty suspicious.
Muffin, do you still think Quinn was being stupid, or is there something different that you would have done? He had already seen his Mom actually exactly like his Mom on another would, so a few seconds to check her personality would have helped.
Oh... and technically speaking, we still don't even know if that was his "home" world ("Earth Prime", the one Remy and Wade were born on, the one from the Pilot episode.) We know that the 3 sport changes all matched real-world sports changes, but his world isn't the same as ours (unless the Cromags have started taking over our real world decades ago - I haven't heard that mentioned in the news yet.)
If you want to read further into it, O.J. was already arrested when they first slid out, and pretty much everyone here knew about it. So one could easily argue that the world Remy and Wade came from wasn't one where O.J. was tried for murder, and so that world with the recently-oiled gate wasn't the same world they were looking for.
That said, I was just watching S4-E14 ("Mother than Child") and Quinn was an idiot in the middle of the episode, although they corrected his obvious mistake by the end of the episode.
It's been a while since I watched any Sliders but what did Quinn do in Mother And Child to make him an idiot?
Then Daddy-Cromag slides in wearing a Hazmat suit, and wants the baby back. They tell him that world drove the Cromags out by inventing a Cromag-specific virus, but that there is an antidote just in case the virus were to cross other to humans and other life forms. So Quinn and the other sliders are total idiots and believe Daddy-Cromag that he just wants the antidote to cure his son, and he's not going to try to steal the antidote and kid back to his world to innoculate all Cromags and destroy the world. So they work together to get the antidote, and surprise: Daddy Cromag tried to double cross them, and steal the kid and antidote so the Cromags can come back and destroy the world. Who would have suspected that? In the end, the Sliders just barely stop him a few feet away from the Portal that would have brought him, and his cure back to his world. Actually, the slider probably should have also cut up the corpse but didn't. Although not without some risk,if they did, maybe the Virus in his tissues could have been replicated and saved other worlds too.
Well I guess if they didn't do idiotic things we'd have no drama.
I do remember one episode where they were leaving an Earth that had giant insects flying towards them and a few made it into the portal, and they briefly landed on one world before sliding again, that poor planet they just left probably is doomed now because those insects would have grown and multiplied and become a plague.
I liked the episode Breeders with the parasite that made people horny
