Microsoft starts testing ads in the Windows 11 Start menu
* Microsoft says it’s starting to test ads inside the Start menu on Windows 11. The software maker will use the Recommended section of the Start menu, which usually shows file recommendations, to suggest apps from the Microsoft Store.*

You can deactivate this * feature * for now but windows 11 looks like an mobile phone menu already

Users start testing other operating systems such as macOS, chromeOS, and Linux.

I hope us on windows 10 aren't forced onto windows 11 by steam (like with windows 7), I'm not so sure about building that new computer anymore.

All the people responsible for this should be tied up and forced to watch ads 24/7.

Whatever they try to do, they get interrupted by an ad, and they can't do anything until it plays out, and once its done they're immediately interrupted by another unskippable ad.

Pi hole blocks ads at the router level. Just saying.

Each ad should be intrupted by an ad.
Infinite ads.

Lol, you mean they'll get bonuses and a pizza at quarter end because we live in a capitalist world where earnings must always go up and ♥♥♥♥ you as a consumer.

And to spice it up, add hidden pop up ads that will move them to another place they had no intention of being in.

Ayy lmao
Every time I see one of the multibillion-dollar companies force and ad, I make sure TO NEVER BUY THE THING ADVERTISED.

If the only way to sell your product is by harassing people, then I don't want to give your company money.

Windows 10 really is the "last" windows OS.

I'm sure AdBlocker will come up with something.

Stop and think

Currently it retails at most £120 (keys going for as little as £20) no matter how long you use it.

What would this sub be priced at when we consider it was 6 years between 10 to 11. What about admin/banking costs as now we are not processing a person once but 12 times a year.

I've used every windows since the beginning except Longhorn and servers.

Windows 10 went down the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ after the second service pack (I refuse to dignify it as a "feature update") and while there's workarounds for the worst of their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, they've only doubled-down with 11.

It's past time to switch to Linux entirely. Praise Gaben for all the Proton and Vulkan work.
