It's disappointing that instead of engaging in a constructive discussion, you've chosen to dismiss differing political views with a derogatory label. The assertion that anyone not aligning with leftist perspectives is a "crazy hatemonger" is divisive and ignores the legitimate concerns and values held by those across the political spectrum.
The question raised was about the prevalence of left-wing and liberal viewpoints among commenters, which is a valid inquiry into the diversity of perspectives within gaming communities. It's important to foster respectful dialogue and understand different political perspectives rather than resorting to dismissive generalizations.
Furthermore, discussions about political leanings should focus on ideas and policies rather than resorting to personal attacks or dismissive attitudes. Respectful engagement allows for a more meaningful exchange of ideas and promotes a healthier discourse on important societal issues.
Yes this entire forum has been nothing but constructive discussion since Steam allowed free discussion of politics.
Certainly! While there have been non-constructive posts, I initiated this thread to understand why many users here lean towards socialist and almost communist viewpoints. However, critiquing topics and individuals for lack of constructiveness does not excuse your unreasonable and rude response, which includes labeling other political orientations and insults. This behavior is regrettably common among liberals and leftists, often stemming from a lack of substantial arguments to uphold their ideologies.
Something tells me that the intent behind making this thread is very far from trying to have constructive conversation or genuine curiosity. You are asking things that you already know the answer for.
- Adjective. Ironic pejorative. (as in, look at how aware and cognizant of there own actions this person isn't)
- Being brainwashed. Not thinking for yourself. Similar to an NPC.
- Believing anything the mainstream media says no matter how contradictory it is to anything else the mainstream media would have you believe.
- Woke content tends to align with "Progressive" political policy. The content itself does not actually matter. What does is strict adherence to a narrative. If that narrative changes then previously "woke" content will suddenly be deemed as "deeply offensive".
It is both an admission that someone is going along with what they have been told to think, and an admonishment that someone is going along with what they have been told to think.
I keep track of the ratio of political threads in here (sadly out of boredom) and there are always way more concervative.
But don't take my word for it. If someone doesn't believe me, just keep track of them over the course of a week.
... though we totally should.
And here comes the real reason behind making this thread.
The root cause is likely the educational institutions that tech workers must pass through to get the degree required for the job.
As an independent, I see the tribals on both sides as having about the same amount of users.
You are an intellectual.
It really seems to me that specific 20% keeps vehemently searching to confirm their bias.
Then whine about how the entire world is against them.
