Soccer is too slow, American Football takes too many breaks. If I was going to watch sports on T.V. it would have to be hockey, it fixes the shortcoming of both sports.

As an American I can say some of us don't care about sports in general; wheather they are *Soccer, Basketball, Baseball, Football, Golf, or anything else.

Also a few days ago at work we had the world cup or something on and all of our guests were going crazy about it so clearly some of us like Soccer.

*OP called it Soccer so I'm calling it Soccer, plus it makes it easier to distinguish from the other sport called Football.

You should watch the average amateur competition in south of netherlands.
Soccer looks more like ice hockey with all the fights. Neymar would not get the chance to act his crying there it would be real crying.
Especially if you like me the only black guy in the team and the others all rednecks on the other team. they will try to get me in hospital and 1 time I got a headbutt from behind and the loser that did that to me lost consciense himself and I only said ouch! and then a whole battlefield emerges cause the rednecks can't have it they look like losers trying to hurt me and when the cops came everyone scrambled and I stood there without pants (lost me pants in the fight lol) and because I looked so silly without pants on they just ran passed me and not even asked me a question

I like football, used to play for a club until I was 16 or so. Made me pretty popular in highschool. Good times.
Now I just play with friends sometimes and follow my favorite teams.

Baseball and hockey are also very popular in the US. The NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL are known as the "Big Four" here for a reason.

As for me, I only like watching Baseball, Football, and hockey.

Soccer is essentially just slow hockey without fights.
