Why is it not going to be on 3DS!? Same with Telltale's games :/
oh shoot i had no idea there was going to be a Terraria 2. i think i get more enjoyment watching the youtubers play these types of games then playing it myself
Terraria is rather small in comparison to Starforge. Starforge has got an infinite randomly generated voxel terrain, graphics that are, for once, not 8-bit like all indie games ever, It may or may not get infinite planets with infinite voxel terrain, and etc.

But keep in mind, it's not even into the beta phase yet, and the finished product isn't expected 'till next year.

Do you mean starbound? you said starforge and i wasnt refering to that game
From what I've seen, it looks like a modern Terraria, although I have yet to play it (will get it soon, maybe).

Take a look at this, it convinced me,

Terraria never really made me want to buy it, but I decided to try out Starbound yesterday and I'm loving it so far.

yeah i watched ethoslab play it lastnight. I've found that if you dont have anybody else to play these types of games with or your not making lets play videos to put on youtube to make money then they get really boring. I think ive had more entertainemnt watching the Youtubers play Terraria and Minecraft than i have by actually playing them

I feel the exact opposite. All I could think of while watching that video was "Want to play now. Want to play now. Want to play now."

more guns

different planets
new stuff!
randomly generated structures
randomly generated monsters
randomly generated weapons

(and it's in early access so there's more coming)
It is hard to compare, they are completly different games. I love both games and have logged quite a few hours in both.

Starbound is more about resource gathering and tech advancement. You start off with next to nothing on a random world. You can stay on that planet for however long you want or leave the moment you have enough coal.

With each summoned boss that you kill you get a specific part usable in the crafting of the next tier work station. It has much more content which allows you to almost never fight yet still have an abundance of "pixels" (money) which comes mainly from fighting and treasure. They have a machine that turns ore and ingot into money.

It also has a much higher replay value due to just being able to hop on your ship and fly away instead of having to create a new world. They seperate the sections of the galaxy by difficulty and you have to craft the new starmap sections on the new crafting areas built from beating bosses.

It is still in Beta and much more is being added. Eventually there will be FTL style ship fights.
