No having different opinions is alright, it's not like it's all there is to a person.

That remind me of my school days. I still don't understand why that was the case. :/

I'm gay because I suck :TheRooster:

Your mom might just be a lesbian.

Ha gay used to mean you have nothing to say before society made it an insult.

If he gives you a different opinion, you can't think of something to say so you say ha gay then change the subject.

Simple, that's probably what your mother told any man that rejected her in her past "you're gay". In her head she just associate the "gay" word with every bad feeling she may had. If she feel bad about someone not thinking the same as her, "gay", if it rain today, "gay", if she broke a fingernail, "gay".

Don't overthink it too much, that's just the only bad thing she have finded to say on the spot to share her bad feeling with you. Probably the consequence of a serious lack of vocabulary too ...

Btw op something i noticed Boomers do when they can't argue they just deflect or end the argument there, might be what's happening, they can't debate so they tell you to stfu.

It feels many struggle to accept peoples have different beliefs or when they are wrong.

when i was in school I was always really shy (i didnt know i had autism or anxiety back then, just thought it was shyness) but I was always worried other kids would think i was gay cuz i was so shy, while other kids were already starting dating and stuff

idk what in my child brain made me think shyness = gay. i really have no idea. but yea so i don't understand a lot from my school days either

It is narcissistic, toxic behavior seen by Generations X, Y, and Z (but Z to a lesser extent, they will use other words). This phrase is lively seen in the Gen Y (Millennial) generation the most because those that actually use the phrase for this purpose are not so, would you say, intellectually inclined and/or emotionally balanced.

Oh and there is an easy way to counter that kind of behaviors : "Why do you think I'm gay ? Can you elaborate ?". They try to end the argument this way, so just annoy them even more with their response, they'll do that less with you. ;)

If it doesn't work as intended, go back to the original subject they've tried to avoid in the first place.

I am kind and like to share, I was also one of those who didn't know how to fight so I guess that is also a factor. I preferred being with girls but had to be with boys even though I felt disgusted around them. Ew. Ew. Ew. EW! (;>.<)

The boys would often tell me to stop using certain words or body language which were deemed girly or gay. How was I supposed to know there was a difference? (;-.-)

Things weren't bad in grade school. Things were way worse for me in high school. I am glad I graduated and didn't see them again. I did see some of them, two of them aren't doing good and one was very friendly towards me when we met at a store, that surprised me. We were kids back then and kids are cruel. (o_o)
