It's not on PC, but the original Front Mission games were turn based and very much Mech Warrior-like (as in the original GW dice and figure game).
Mechwarrior Online is an online, PVP arena type game. This is a full fledged mech simulator.
I don't like PVP so I didn't like it too much so I don't want to comment on them. They are both free to play so you can give them a try.
That changed into Mechwarrior Online. The single player was removed as well as the mechs that were the cause of the legal issues they were having.
I've been waiting for a good one too. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like the industry is interested on making them any more.
Actully there are quite a few games that have mechs in them, problem is the game indistry tryes to shove thim into a generic milatary FPS rather than give them their own game so they generally turn out to be a one level prop for advertising purpases rather than an actual game piece.
Personally I've been waiting Mech Commander reboot/continuation.
It is an RTS style game. It has mechs, but isn't really a mech game like we have been discussing.
The creators of Armored Core also made some other game called Chromehounds. No idea how that game looks like. And I remember something called Battle Engine Aquila. Never seen anything beyond cover art of it though.
