Looking for a new Mech game
Hello all Steam users. I have been looking for a Mech-Warrior style game for a long long time now and i cannot find any good ones. Please let me know if there are any Mech games out there worth checking out.

Well, I'll give you the standard answer of Armored Core and Front Mission Evolved. I believe the MW game they were working on was canceled some time ago.

It's not on PC, but the original Front Mission games were turn based and very much Mech Warrior-like (as in the original GW dice and figure game).

There is Hawken. More of a FPS then a mech game though. It is PVP as well.

Mechwarrior Online is an online, PVP arena type game. This is a full fledged mech simulator.

I don't like PVP so I didn't like it too much so I don't want to comment on them. They are both free to play so you can give them a try.

That changed into Mechwarrior Online. The single player was removed as well as the mechs that were the cause of the legal issues they were having.
i want a gundam game! but like open world! with next-gen graphics of course

Okay thank you very much i will look into those games. I was looking more of a single player game Im not much into PvP. but there is no harm in trying.

I've been waiting for a good one too. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like the industry is interested on making them any more.

For a long time it was such a big genre. Then after the Mech-Warrior series stoppped coming out so did the rest of the mech games. LOL

I have not tried Airmech. Is it a single player game or PvP?

Actully there are quite a few games that have mechs in them, problem is the game indistry tryes to shove thim into a generic milatary FPS rather than give them their own game so they generally turn out to be a one level prop for advertising purpases rather than an actual game piece.

Personally I've been waiting Mech Commander reboot/continuation.

It is an RTS style game. It has mechs, but isn't really a mech game like we have been discussing.

Ill def give it a try. I looked at it on Steam and its F2P. So its not like I can lose out on it. LOL My favorite Mech game was Mechwarrior 3 for Playstation back in the day. I may try to find the games on Amazon or on Ebay for the PC. If I am able to find any I will let everyone know. =)

Also I bought Strike Suit Zero. Im going to give it a try. Seems like a Panzer Dragoon/Armored Core hybrid. Hope its not too bad. For 4.99 i cant complain either way though.

SSZ is a really good game in it's own right, I have it and it's pretty awesome.

Armored Core is pretty good, but thus far on the consoles only. It hasn't been too much of a simulation. The latest or second latest installment - Armored Core 5 - took some more steps into simulation, but overall it's a rather arcadish franchise, despite the great amount of customization you can put into making your own mech. Maybe you want to take some closer look at the Japanese market. Mecha-games seem to have some popularity there. Or maybe they did. I don't know. I remember documentaries and gaming shows on TV that would for example show whole arcade machines and control devices made specifically for mecha games, but that's like a whole or half a decade ago. It is hard to tell, I assume many of the more specific games and genres over there never make it overseas.

The creators of Armored Core also made some other game called Chromehounds. No idea how that game looks like. And I remember something called Battle Engine Aquila. Never seen anything beyond cover art of it though.

I forgot Gungriffon Blaze. Hell, that was fun. It seems there were or are multiple installments too, I only know one for the PS2, a game that apparently never got much attention outside of Japan, but I thought it was a pretty neat though at times hard game. It's not a full simulation either but it is more similar to Mechwarrior than Armored Core. It had only like 4 or 5 missions, but these were pretty big and open multi-stage scenes of operation.
