Assassins Creed Shadows, hit or flop?
As per topic, do think it will be a hit or flop? And why?

I personally think it will make money, probably nowhere near as ACV. Only hardcore fans will throw money at it. Casual players I think will avoid this game like a plague. Used to be a big fan of the franchise, heck, got almost all the games in my library...

Not staying true with the protagonist vs the setting and ERA where the games takes place. Ezio was an Italian in the Renaissance. Eivor, Connor, Bayek and Altair, all represented their setting appropriately. Shadows or UBISOFT to be corrected, took a wild turn with this new title. The protagonists in this Japanese era are simply inappropriate and unfitting. It's like wearing a bathing suit to a wedding.

This is the first I've heard of a new ass creed game since odyssey. It's a ubislop game, so it's an auto-flop.

It will make money in the west, but most likely flop in Japan.
With how they spit in their face japanese wouldn't play it.
It ain't no Phantom Blade Zero.

I'm sure it'll be sold like pancakes in China.

Assassin's creed has always been bad probably the most boring game franchise in existence.

I say hit
It will not do well on steam for a $250+ million project.
But it will do very decently on its native platform (the consoles)

Console Action Adventure with sandbox openworld, set in Japan. It will do wonders with the mainstream crowd. Personally I think its boring and way to simplistic, but that is a subjective opinion and there is no denying that the younger generation also like these games.

I don´t think so.
Ubisoft games have 90% of their sales on console.. They never really sell much on PC. That make sense, as they are console centric games.

They almost always generate profit (sure not crazy profits, but profits) so I don´t think Ubisoft is in any danger with this one.

True. To be fair, lately released, unpolished and unoptimised games are big turn off. Got into a habit of letting games mature before playing. Havent played CyberPunk 2077 yet, still got a few games I am playing through.

I bet it would be a good seller in China. The entire art direction, mounts, dragons etc looks Chinese, NOT Japanese.

I am picking it up. I just want to murder people for a while.
