If you hate YouTube ads
If you hate YouTube ads, why don't you just admit you're a pirate? Because if you avoid ads where companies and people make money, then you're a pirate.

And all forums of pirates are bad just like vikings. They do evil things no matter where they are.

nice thing about posting links though

You can click on the share button during a commercial and get the link to the vid
The link in a forum will not play ads

I mean I hate ads but how does that make me a pirate? I don't use adblock or anything
You know when the neoliberal mindset has really sunk in when everything is blamed on the consumer lmao!

I don't care where the ads are, when there are multiple video ads that start automatically and cannot be stopped, the advertiser is stealing my bandwidth at that point and as such, I have no qualms of blocking them.

It is on thing to have a static ad on a page, or a 10 second ad at the start of the video, that allows people to bypass them, but when one cannot, and as someone stated, longer than the video being watched, that is a whole different ballgame.

when ads just started it was very nice and delicate system - 5 sec ad, only in the beginning of the vid, you can skip it if you not interested.

Now it's two unskippable 15+ secs ads, ads during the vid, ads in the end of the vid... Using adblock is stealing?? Stop stealing my lifetime instead!

So, you are supporting their scummy practices? Why?

Youtube used to work fine before the premium service level began eating up all of the bandwidth. It's been a freemium service ever since, and has done very little to support any of the free content which makes that work for them.

Adblock all day. They're so effective, what're they gonna do next, outlaw them and force us all to watch their ads?

When did this new trend of adblock = pirate start and why is it even a thing

Been using uBlock Origin for so long. Never had to worry most of the time with it. No ads.

And with the element picker, every time a site like youtube has the adblock popup. select picker, select pop up, boom pop up eliminated in 5sec.

Screw your forced ads and screw your labels you now want to place on me for refusing to view them
to be fair you do use their service, and they do need to make money. If everyone use adblocker, no one will run free video sharing website like youtube.

personally since they already offer subscription offer, just pay for the service you use via money than watching ads.

They can make plenty of money on the ads just from the side... don't act like youtube has been running at a loss all this time, that's silly.

And not like prices have gone up that much either... this is just the typical "charge what the market will bear" attitude.

Problem is trickle down economics. They get money and drip it down to us.. it should be we get the money and they need to earn it from us with good service and competition.

How can anyone compete in a world where they don't want you to own anything?

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. YouTube is not a job place, it's a platform for posting stuff you make in your free time. If you expect to get money from that, yeah well, that's your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ problem because no one promised you any money from it. If you have a problem with spending your free time and effort on making videos, then just don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ do it if it's just something you'll complain about. Get a real job and ♥♥♥♥ off. Arrogant and entitled idiots.

Moreover, content creators depend on fully automated systems not handing them out punishment for things they haven't even done, and fully automated systems for exposure. Trying to build livelihood entirely based on YouTube sounds like the riskiest way to live.
