You really want dune games based off of the current cannon?
Wouldn't be down to them anyway. The game was published by Westwood Studios before they became part of EA, so EA would be the only people who could still have the source code. So you've got a very, VERY slight chance of it turning up on Origin but it sure as hell ain't going to show up on Steam.
Weird game, but not bad.
In any case, the RTS games died with Westwood.
One can always dream. As I dream for Brutal Legend 2 and The Iron Giant 2.
To explain were the Dune film and game rights come in to it and why no one has been able to sell new copy's of the Dune games or even make a new one legitimately is because. The company formerly known as Herbert Limited Partnership HLP (now known as Herbert Properties LLC) appears to prefer licensing the rights as a bundle (TV, film, video games, etc).
Also I believe that since Herbert Limited Partnership HLP took EA games and 8 other firms to Court for copyright and trademark infringements has scared away any other firm from asking to lease the rights ever again.
Ok now apart from the Dune Novels (Books) and so far as there have been no more legal ramblings since 2011 of any company / firm out there making any new Dune films, TV shows and or games I believe that if the right person/s came along and asked Herbert Properties LLC to once more lease the rights they could make a fortune just selling the old Dune games and with the profits from that make a new Dune game or even try to do a kick-starter to start it off.
If any one dose ask this is a must make them compatible with all Win 7, 8.1 & 10.
sorry if this was a bit long i shortened it as much as i could the original text i did was 2 A4 pages long.
