I still don't understand why people randomly say "Darude - Sandstorm" I read that it is a song, but why did it become a Troll Tool?

It all started with a stream game of League of Legends. A viewer asked a question about the song on the background and the streamer said "Darude - Sandstorm" and that's the origins of the meme.

The knowyourmeme leaves out the most important part of the history.

The real reason it because a smart-alec answer is that someone asked on yahoo answers "PLEASE HELP VERY POUPLAR techno song!?! They play it in clubs..."

Based on a lousy text description, it was CORRECTLY IDENTIFIED as Sandstorm.

And on that day the internet decreed that any song you couldn't identify was Sandstorm. Even if the poster is literally the only one who can't identify it.

You literally couldn't google up the answer when it actually WAS sandstorm, because unless you had the cd or an announcer/dj told you, you wouldn't even be able to guess it's name. that's part of the joke.

If I remember correctly, people ask a song's name on a YouTube video and people would reply with "Darude - Sandstorm". It was annoying at times, like wanting to know the song because it sounds good and read replies and see "Darude - Sandstorm".
