Fair enough, ignore that online sample then, it's not as good as seeing for yourself firsthand.
I suggest you play a racing car game and see for yourself. Perhaps use a 120/144Hz monitor and high-end graphic card able to keep up with the 120 FPS +. Then have that same game playing locked v-sync on at a standard 60 FPS (or a 60Hz monitor) and again lower 30 FPS. If you don't see and even feel the difference then, I will be seriously shocked.
Mine won't go above 75 with this monitor, but I have seen the difference between 120 fps and 30/60. That is pretty clear. But between 30 and 60, I don't notice differences in games, not unless I were to focus hard enough actually looking for it.
I don't know what your specs are, so I don't know if you play at 30 or 60 FPS constantly, but in my experience, after playing with 60 FPS across almost all of my games for so long, it is hard to go back. 30 FPS starts feeling really choppy after playing at 60 for so long.
The difference is when you are actually playing the game, because FPS has to do with gameplay and not better looking graphics. The biggest difference is the control over your character.
-----------------------
But why is everyone arguing? This is not an opinion, this is scientific fact... If someone says there is no difference between 30FPS and 60FPS, then they are wrong, simple as that.
Roughly two years later, UBI has put such a sour face on me for numerous reasons, I would feel dirty purchasing the upcoming FC4, Unity, Crew and so on.
Passing on all of them, actually. Buying those games would be like going back to an ex-girlfriend who cheated on you, but you only knew she cheated on you because you caught her in a lie, and she attempted to cover up that lie with another lie.
That \/\/♥♥♥♥ also stole money.
There is no noticeable difference for me and that is not an opinion but a fact. Funny that you seem to think that scientific facts are absolute truths or that there can never be exceptions.
I am not saying that they should lock it at 30 fps just because it doesn't bother me or that others don't notice a difference. But don't expect to mindlessly jump in the wagon. Our eyes can see far beyond 30 fps, but I don't notice the difference when playing games between 30 and 60.
" Funny that you seem to think that scientific facts are absolute truths"
Did you just say that?
Yes. Do you believe otherwise?
If yes, then I suggest you google both terms.
Science does not deal with "truth", it deals with facts. Philosophy deals with truth, mathematics deals with proofs. They all mean very different things.
The ironic thing here is that they said they were doing this to AVOID arguments.
(I stopped reading after the third argument over visibility of 30 vs 60 fps, so apologies if this has been addressed already)
Even if Unity isn't locked (I don't think it will be), the frame-rates in the previous two games were incredibly unstable on the PC and the weird V-sync they implemented was supposedly the blame, it might as well be locked to 30fps.
Loading up U-play and trying to play from there opens steam and starts the download process.
Steam to Ubisoft is just a way to save bandwidth and therefore money.
They know 60fps is better than 30fps they have all been in the industry long enough, it's about money and nothing else, with the console games running locked at 30fps and rendering at 720p then the upcoming relese of DX12 (low level API like consoles) they can port games over real quick and cheap and bring in some cash from PC owners, good thing is more games for PC (seen Forza demo running on DX12) but the bad is your super power rig might aswell be a console, there will always be games to push your PC to the max though.
