22 year old, buys yu gi oh cards. is it strange ?
does anyone collect yu gi oh cards ? im 22 and i started getting back into collecting them about a month ago. i dont tell many people only close friends and my fiancee. she doesnt mind at all. but i just found it strange how people look down on an adult who collect them. i was in a shooping center the other day and decided to buy some but the young women behind the desk seems to think it was funny. what do you guys think about a man of my age collecting them ?

Why would that be strange? You like what you like, and as long as what you like doesn't harm another human being, why would you want to stop or why should your chosen entertainment be 'strange' ?

And what do i think of a man your age collecting cards? I quite frankly don't care. I still have my magic the gathering cards and i still buy comics and i am way older than you. So why would that be strange?

Other people go to play poker with their friends, you play yu gi oh... big whoop and difference. Card game is card game.

It is perfectly normal. Nothing strange or weird about it. That woman behind the desk is a total lunatic. There's adults that collect action figures, lego (yes lego) and toy cars as well.

Were you trying to impress the young women behind the counter by purchasing them?

That might be an issue.

i agree i just dont understand why some people think its just a childs game and grown men are strange for collecting them. i love buying them :)
I know guys that collect old barbie dolls, and 1930s automobiles, and other things. Collect whatever you want to collect and don't care what anyone else thinks.

I'd find it a little hypocritical for people to judge you for playing a ccg... then switch on hearthstone on their ipads.

No issues with it at all - enjoy... I don't believe your the only one.

However, it does remind me of this new report:

According to Sponichi Annex, the man was recently playing the Yu-Gi-Oh! card battle game against an 11 year-old boy in a card shop. After the man won twice, the sixth grader got up to leave. Apparently, the man asked, "You're running away?", causing the boy to fling the cards off the table. Then, the 29 year-old then allegedly grabbed the kid by his collar. The boy suffered light scratches to his face during the altercation, and the adult was soon crowned "The King of Jerks".

Yeah... so just don't be beating up the little dudes, who also want to enjoy the game, it could look bad.

Apart from that, have fun!

Nothing is weird. It's your favorite hobby. But I would say it's their hobby, like, collecting yu-gi-oh and pokemon cards.

I've seen them in Amageddon Expo and store this before.

it's normal/strange. trust me when you see 8-10 people playing mtg at a community college or yu gi oh cards not sure how many people played that since it was different days then I was there.
no not really, but if you are playing with action figures/dolls/toy cars, I'd find that quite strange...
