What I also still love at LANs is BF1942, especially if you're dogfighting. Taunting your mate that you're going to bomb him mid-air loses something when its over the internet.

sadly, i have not played LAN since 2006 as most of my real life gaming friends are in the cities now or where their job lie and i am back in my mountain hide out.
i have not played any LAN steam games.
i only have a few games in my steam library. i am not even aware if some can be played LAN (except l4d1 and l4d2?).
maybe when my asus and evga gtx 960 arrive, i will play LAN games with my nephews when they come visit me during summer break. \
