Edit: I am totally in shock to see that it has really bad reviews by critics except by regular people.
There is also the fallout way, but again people might survive that.
So i would have to say earth getting destroyed, if it get destroyed before space age, that is.

But personally, even though i derive pleasure from being able to poke fun at religion fundamentalists with the zombie apocalypse, i actually can stomach it anymore.
In terms of interest to explore, i am going with Nuclear Apocalypse. You can do a lot with that and mutants. Create a new alien like world on earth as the survivors struggle to survive... i think in terms of raw story potential there is no other apocalypse that is offering as many possibilities as a nuclear wasteland.
If we talk about which the most likely to me personally is? Then i am going with either a big comet hitting earth or a solar flare wiping out human infra structure and the ensuing mad scramble for resources, since barely anyone knows what to do without it anymore.
