Why do people hate wasps?

Why do people hate wasps? People are always like "bees rule wasps drule". There is no reason to hate bees, but wasps arent all that bad either. First of all, many wasps DO pollenate flowers. They also control crop pests like locusts. Not to mention they, like all other species, keep the food chain in balance. Also when I caught a wasp and released, it just flew away it did not sting me. Also only honeybees die when they sting not other types of bees. Wasps don't make honey but that is not reason to hate them with a passion. Wasps are just a little more agressive, that's all. So what do you think?

A wasp flamewar? That has to be a first. The wasp spray is going to take the bees out too - not so much intentionally but more "friendly fire". Once you start shooting down flying bugs you spray first and ask questions later.

...and that's honestly true. If it is bigger than a fly and bouncing off the kitchen window she says I have to get it out of there *now* and could care less if it is a bee or a wasp.

The WASPs in my area keep telling and bugging me to water the lawn, then get mad when I tell them we live in an arid/desert climate under drought conditions and shouldn't even have green lawns to begin with.

but at my home its a miracle when 1 wasp just bump on to my head and then i grab it( though it was something else) it didnt sting me. I found a friend

Well I'm indifferent to wasps, however I will acknowledge that they are very much a threat to my pets and little siblings, so I will burn their nests and lay pesticide around my house. The fact that bees hives have to be threatened in order for a bee to sacrifice itself gives me some confidence that bees will not harm my siblings, however wasps can harm without consequence, it would suck to find out my family has a wasp allergy and we didn't remove them beforehand, bees can be relocated with ease, wasps invade as much as they can.

Yup i think wasp are not pest controls, they only eat spiders ( my only pest control) not flys or mosquitoes
