Why are Let's Players so bad at games?
Just look at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4e1IXgvT24
In the first clip, Pewdiepie gets lots of damage by her girlfriend, yet her girlfriend doesn't know how to do a recovery move with Pikachu.
In the second, his girlfriend KO's Pewdiepie yet not knowing how to do Kirby's multiple jumps.
(Pewdiepie is overrated anyways)

Is this some kind of syndrome or are they secretly good at the game just faking bad skill for money?

It's true that most Lets Players are incredible bad in videogames. Also reviewers. Especially those who rate a game "bad" if they're bad in it.

They do it on purpose to get more attention.... And pay. They also get more money for every minute a person watches. Lose a game on purpose and get more air-time for more money.

Money.

To make the video very cringe worthy.

I hate to generalize, but there's no way men in their twenties who are such "avid gamers" could possibly be so terrible.

Kids just like to watch someone make fart/sex jokes, and do a bunch of derpy things.
That's what Lets Plays are, these days....just appealing to the Children, talk about the lowest common denomonator.....get it?....because they're kids?.....and they're short?.....and I said lowest?.....No? Okay, I'll just be going then.

Bumping is against the rules OP. Not trying to enforce anything, But you could always contribute something while bumping your thread.

Also when iJustine could barely play Portal 2 when she gets stuck on the first level for 8 minutes
I really just think that they pretend to be bad to get in funny situations they planned out beforehand. After all, they do use jump-cut editing and everything they say for all you know could be pre-meditated like a script, just with deviation they introduce. It takes a special gamer, or let's player for that matter to actually react in realtime to games and provide comedic entertainment. Also, if they are a let's player, for the most part comedy is either a weak side or they try to capitalize on it. In doing so, I wouldn't think they'd have enough time to focus on the game whilst providing commentary. This is why I believe streaming to be better than any other form or gaming entertainment. It provides real reactions and presentation without planned gags or jokes that fall flat.

Even more botheres me when they talk during a cutscene. Theres not a single lets player i am watching. I don't know remember back in the time when people played those games? :D

If I watch any gameplay whatsoever, then I always search for no commentary videos, that or I don't watch them at all.

People like to see other people fail. It is human nature.

The Germans have a wonderful word for this called "Schadenfreude" It means taking delight in the misfotrune of others.

This is why people watch car racing (car crashes), or sports (injury and fights), or fail videos, or let's plays, and so on... It suddenly makes one feel better knowing they are not that person that the bad thing just happened to.

So let's players pretend to be bad because it is funny to many people to see someone acting flustered and pizzed off over a game.

Fart jokes are always funny, even to my over 90 year old grandfather. Any man that doesn't find farts funny is not a real man or has no sense of humor.

The original definition of "Let's Play" has changed.

Now people just do video game commentary and call that LPs.

Even though LPs were literally people being back seat gamers and making suggestions to the Player(Original LP was of Oregon Trail)

Good LPers can beat games in >5 videos.
Bad LPers are Pewdiepie
Odd LPers are 11 drunk guys, where it's just 11 people screaming at once being a combo of Good and Bad.
