My (and your) thoughts on P.T. ("Silent Hills" Playable Teaser)

I'm going to sum this up as quickly as I can.
I think P.T. is an awesome horror game, but I didn't exactly "fit" with the Silent Hill reveal thing.
P.T. had a perfect chance to become an original game with an original storyline. I liked how P.T. had a "the gap in the door is a gateway to a new dimension/separate reality" thing, and it fit with the loop concept. However, like I already said, this would be an amazing set-up for an original story.
For the record, I'm not truly upset over the fact that it is now connected to the Silent Hill universe, I just wish they could have done something a bit more original.
"But hold on a second, Qual, P.T. IS original!" Well, yes, it is, but it isn't an entirely brand new story. It introduces new concepts, but knowing that it will be Silent Hill kinda killed it for me a bit.
I'm aware that Silent Hill had a dimension-thing as well, but P.T. just had a shot at making something new with the number-codes, desolate loop, and etc.

Well i agree with you. The setup for the P.T is pretty awesome for an original story. I don't really see it as a Silent Hill related thing honestly... Unless final release for the New Silent Hill is going to be a bit different in that it's more original or more like the series, I'm not so sure on this one... but I must say it's a fantastic idea for another story\series. I myself was unable to play it due to network issues with the ps4 but i have watched the entire thing on Youtube.

I have always loved the Silent Hill series and look forward to the next release although I'm still unable to figure out quite what's going on with it.

I also hope they start releasing more Silent Hill titles on PC instead of consoles only... :(

Same here, if you took away the SILENT HILLS reveal at the end, nobody would guess Silent Hill. Maybe that's what they were shooting for.

Perhaps. I certainly never would have known it would turn out to be a Silent Hill teaser... Watching it played, i found it difficult to tell that it was a teaser rather than an entirely different game. Makes me curious as to what's going to happen...

Off topic, the 28 Days Later Theme would fit the atmosphere of Silent Hills perfectly.
Or weeks later, I forget which.

Same here but I think I know what you're speaking of. It oculd be a good concept for the series (if very carefuly planned!) I'm also one of those who believes in returning to the roots of what made the series great as with Resident Evil... but that can be dangerous if not done right. I do understand that the series needs some fresh ideas that could really change things for the better!
