Odd symbolism and themes in Dragon Age Inquisition
Ok lol i know i'll get stick for mentioning this i finally got round to playing DAI however i've just uninstalled it after 30 hours of play for this reason, is this game just some sort of social experiment? I've noticed a lot of disturbing symbolism and themes, the all seeing eye of providence appears so much in this game that i couldn't fail to notice it, from the armour to the walls to the closing of the main menu. I also noticed a few quests which hint at more than they're letting on, one coversation with Cole touches on Euthanesia in a disturbing way, asking if it's better to knife him or let him suffer.

I'm a very level headed person, certainly no conspiracy nut, i couldn't believe what i was seeing at times, kinda made me uncomfortable. Firstly i'm not looking for your opinion, there's no way to prove or disprove it and these types of topic always turn into farcical conversations, I'm simply asking if anyone else reading has noticed this at all whilst playing.

This must be the most ridiculous reason for uninstalling i ever heard.

Everyone I've heard say this, have never left the hinterlands. You're not supposed to grind there.

The eye is the seeker of truth symbol. Do you make these kinds of correlations when you see triangles in a game? You said you're not a conspiracy nut, but idk what else to call that. You're digging deep bro.
Illominate cunfirm

Because i'm not, and you don't have to be to recognise simple symbolism, play the game it's literally everywhere you look lol.

How can you have Disturbing symbolism and not a conspiracy nut in the same post ?

The eye has been part of human symbolism at the very least since the time of the ancient Egypts. The Eye of Horus (which presumably leads to the christians adopting it) for example is a quite famous symbol.

The eye for the ancient Egypt represented the sun, protection and life.

The christians shortly afterwards mention the eye a couple times in the bible, as well as the use of eye symbols to allude to the fact that their god is constantly watching them.

The combination of Sun and Eye is very, very old. Matter of fact.. interestingly enough the right eye is being associated with the sun and all things good and the left eye is associated with the moon and evil (the evil eye for example).

The eye of providence, a right eye shape framed by sunrays, and its associations with the Freemasons is a 'recent' thing. But its also what most people know these days.

However it has nothing to do with the either. The eye as symbol of searching and the sun as symbol for cleanliness and life and warmth, are age old.

In the most hamfisted way. And yes, Cole is supposed to be unable to understand humans and why they do things they do. If you do not let him show mercy to the guy that is suffering, the guy will suffer for days and end up dying anyway.

And there is nothing disturbing about it. It might be uncomfortable for some people to face the idea of mortality, but that doesn't mean it should be a taboo.
I actually completed the hinterlands it was the other zones that i couldn't bring myself to complete, not sure why mate i just felt the excellent story was gated behind a lot of filler, just my opinion. Regarding my topic i meant it in a more light hearted sense i'd edit my post but i honestly can't be bothered, i'm not really into conspiracy etc but i can't help that i noticed it. I've been playing a lot of Deus Ex HR lately maybe that's what caused it lol.

I love games and movies that are willing to make people think for a change of pace, it is quite refreshing to see people using their brains instead of just running along on drone mode autopilot.

Like Red Dead Redemption was a great game that blurred the lines between government and criminals.

You should see the movies "Donnie Darko" or "Fight Club" or "V For Vendetta" or "The butterfly effect" or "2001 A space Odyssey" or "A Clockwork Orange" some time.

As for an all seeing eye, that has been prevalent in human history since, well, human history has been recorded. It also has a proven psychological root in that people are less likely to "misbehave" when under the watch of even a painted on the wall picture of an eye.
They can't classify this game has historical, but all 3 are 1 story part of an History related to evil worshiping. Some portrait in the houses are satanist and oculist etc. Pretty sure i recognized Aleister Crowley in one of them. The eye figure, is and always been just a tool to keep that thing present in our world. The guy stating Egyptian and eye representing sun. Well the sun represent the lightbringer, Lucy. The eye is like an effigy and idol. You clearly got the mark of the beast i then hand, they just switched side. And the baddies are demons to start with. I could go on a theological thesis but suffice to say willingly or not this game is accurately dark.
