30 FPS is outdated and not good enough for most modern AAA games.
The minimum FPS in 2025 should be at least 60. We need to hold these studios to a higher standard of quality.

60FPS was outdated a decade ago, never mind 30FPS.

It was fine when it was cheap console boxes. Now those boxes are a premium price.

Elitism. So cool.

Or having a preference.

for most average gamers, frame time isnt a big issue,
now they are perfecting the frame generation technology.
maybe they will come to a very details graphic and good generated frames pushing for more frames in the future, so gamers can have good graphic and good FPS at the same time.
It is one form of "optimization".

To allow users to lower settings in order to have a smooth gaming experience on lower end machines.

This allows a wider range of settings for helping more people play a game.

Why would you want to remove it?
How does it effect someone who sets it higher?

Preferences aren't cool. Elitism is.
Is it elitist to have standards? We are on Steam the main place to play PC games. Is it unfair to ask for the framerate that was the standard in the 80's with consoles like the NES for example?

And I say this as someone who frequently plays old 3D console games, that run in about 20fps.

There is no reason in this day and age, that a game can't run in at least 60 fps. Especially with all this AI upscaling, that is becoming increasing needed to have good enough experience.

Exactly, these AAA studios have massive resources. It’s not unfair of us as customers to ask more of them.

My computer is so bad that it’s not “frames per second” but “seconds per frame”.

Could be.
Is it though?

Surely everyone has an expectation of something? Some may expect a game to look a certain way.

Say if they announced a new God of War game, what would you expect? Would you expect it to be like the newer games? Or the originals? Say take this theoretical example.

Would you expect this new game to play like the modern over the shoulder games, but it looks like a PS2 game.

Would you then be elitist because you expected it to look like Ragnarok?
Or would you not care as long as it ran well?
Which opinion is elitist?
Is having any expectation at all, elitism?

Your eyes are screwed up big time and your brain. Its not able to see the gaps and skips at 30fps and the literal screen vibration. Selecting anything to move across screen is a series of stop starts if you look at it in slow motion.

Its unplayable, 30fps is literally unplayable yet people do it. It is not elitism it is simply facts about how motion works. Anyone who says otherwise thier brain has this inability to properly see the screens motion.

Fun fact movies are only -6fps aka 24fps and they all acknowledge panning judder. Which puts a massive nail in any counter arguement about motion.

I wouldn't know, I don't play peasant games made by peasants for peasants. I have standards, haha.
Are you making a point here, or are you just ignoring the question?
10 FPS in 800x600, take it or leave
