Did you know they made figures for Space Marine 2? It's like the game was created to sell Ultra mehren figures. I wonder if it will be a new trend. GW releases new digital content, makes limited edition figures, sells them to people who are foaming at the mouth and hungry for WH40k stuff. I'm really thinking GW is going down the Magic the Gathering route. Magic the Gathering released limited edition cards called "Secret Lairs" which they only print x amount. Interesting enough, MTG actually did a WH40k "Secret Lairs" release that was limited edition.

So I'm really starting to wonder if they are going to adopt that method to selling their stuff in the future. I think I've seen GW put out limited edition figures before, so I guess it would be nothing truly new, just worse. I don't like the new stuff they have made. Renaming the Imperial guard and then creating those new Astra Militarum figures just.....I dunno they look lame. The Grey Knights now being Knights within a Knight within another Knight is also lame. The new stuff is a huge miss for me. The only good thing I like that has happened is that the Blood Ravens are officially in the lore as an actual chapter. Also the Death Korps look very cartoony compared to the figures made by that other company I forgot the name of.

honestly i wouldn't be surprised if they only made the game to boost figure sales. and the bad thing about it is that they are so hyperfocused only on the Marines. like where is the love for the Imperial Guard, the true unsung heroes of the Imperium, where is the love for the Inquisition, the Adeptas Sororitas, the Officio Assassinorum. why do i have to play as Spesh Muhreen all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time. although for MtG i wouldn't comment because i only delved in that for too little time so i can't possibly contribute anything regarding this.

the Emperor never created anything called Grey Knights, that's Matt Wardian heresy seeping through the Golden Throne and it needs prometheum cleansing. what i would love to see in the future would be an Astartes game (yes a game based on the animation), preferably tps or even fps i wouldn't mind, some love for the Death Korps in a game. i'll stick to the oldies myself, both digital games and codices, plus of course the books.

It's not just the Imperial Guard getting no love either, but other factions as well. So far GW is hyper focused on pushing Necrons and Chaos, but Eldar and Dark Eldar are just fading into oblivion with Tau. I'm surprised they have done so little with Orkz as well seeing as Orkz was one of the most beloved factions in the series just due to how crazy they were.

It feels like Warhammer 40k will always just be the one dimensional Ultra Marines vs Chaos conflict. There is a big push to put out more Tzeetch stuff as well which I assume is cause they are also blue like the Ultra Marines. I haven't seen Khorne or Slaanesh in a game for awhile now. I guess it's just blue vs blue vs terminators. It's amazing how they want to create more Imperial forces while there is so little of the other factions to even fight. I really want an Imperial Guard fps game, but I guess all I'll ever get is Darktide. It's the only shooter game so far where you can even use the guard lasguns.

tbh Necrons hadn't seen much love and it was more of a "niche" faction, what i had heard and seen was that they were usually kept for the more experienced in the tabletop due to their mechanics obviously. i never really liked Chaos, i mean i can understand the concept of Chaos Undivided but ok, playing as Daemons was eh, not my cup of coffee. i always seeked the lament in the factions i choose, that's why i sticked with D.Eldar (i refuse to tell them Drukhari because fu Matt), but most of the people who play DEldar would tell you that this is why you won't see a game for instance with Slaanesh, She Who Thirsts (always). won't sell. it's like the entire franchise has the poster boys (the toilet seat insignia fellows, the blueberry muffins) and that's it. how about a game about Space Wolves for instance who are awesome and really don't like anyone telling them what to do even though they remain loyal to the Emperor but also have a really strong sense of morality and justice themselves but not being an Android card game but a real actual tps or even fps game with them. or a game like Darktide but with Krieg instead, solely Kriegs.

i also don't really see much love for the Tyrannids even though they can be really spooky and grimdark as to how they operate and how they produce all these innumerable little painful creatures. it will be one dimensional entirely Ultra Marines vs Chaos, that's where it will lead i'm afraid and i wouldn't want to see that because i was always told from more seasoned veterans in the game that in spite of the buffs and nerfs who come and go and "the flavors of the month", sticking to what you like is always optimal because that's what you like in the end.

What's funny is people like the Tyrannid missions in Space Marine 2 more than the Chaos missions. Marines fighting inverse marines just gets boring. I remember a couple months ago there was massive controversy over the Necrons having a queen or something. I'm a filthy casual to the WH40k universe so I don't know much about it other than that.

I'm mixed about the Daemons myself as well. Really I'd prefer marines fighting Daemons than other marines. I think eventually the WH40k universe will just be good marine vs bad marine. What's weird to me is that the primarch of the Blood Angels was the most beloved by the emperor, yet when have we had a game with Blood Angels as the main focus? How did the primarch of the Ulttra Marines all the sudden become the most beloved one?

Sadly, consumer capitalism is just rewriting the lore. Even the female custodes thing that blew up was a big nothing to me. Hell, at least the custodes got something new. None of the other factions are getting jack. If GW said we are changing the Eldar avatar to a woman I'd be like "wow they actually thought about Eldar for a split second to give them something." I think DOW will probably always be my best memories of WH40k, because GW has decided to erase everything else. Even the imperial guard are being erased.

lmao Tyrannids > Chaos :wallofmartyrs: of course people would like these missions instead.
i mean it's nice and feels cosy deep inside to fight Chaos but Tyrannids are a whole other level of "nope-f-that", they're not even from this galaxy to begin with they're from f knows where.

and to be fair here they (Tyrannids) did a pretty good job on Guilliman even though Matt had to introduce him to Yvraine and all that jazz ugh :inquisition:

Guilliman became the most beloved one because Matt said so, you see Matt is a person who doesn't really take into account how the lore progressed through the decades no, he doesn't take into account what the community would like to see no, he doesn't even take into account his own voices of wisdom and regret that could probably reside inside that tiny skull of his, no, you see Matt all he cares about is to make his GW overlords squirm from happiness from their money, because it's all about the damn money nowadays. :inquisition: :mutantabomination:

thing is people still have the old codices, lots of them. friends of mine irl have codices up to 6th and 7th ed, the old lore, before GW decided to worship Slaanesh and papa Nurgle. people could produce good games but alas GW must put their "mark of approval" onto them before release, because deep down they know they have created something that drew people cause it's so damn awesome but instead they prefer to create artificial interest and then buff the factions they like. idk i was always a xeno lover mostly, i never really liked playing "Humans" in any game.
