Why is there a lot of American movies that take place in a school but hardly any in video games?
When I think of games that take place in an American school, there's only 2 that come to mind at the moment: Bully and Life is Strange.

Meanwhile in Asian countries, there are COUNTLESS ones especially themed after anime shows.

Why is that?

Some of the very old Altier games also took place in "magic schools". i think the third altier game did this mostly.

hmm..for ones set specifically in a usa type of town, yea, that one is hard to find on steam.

There are a couple i played, but i doubt there available on steam. They are from older systems. For example, i believe one of the earthbound games let you explore a usa type school.

Demi Kids on the GB also have usa type places to explore and the kids at the beginning of the game are from a usa type school. Again, not available on steam sadly. Basically a game where you catch demons. This game predated the pokemon games too i believe. So this game invented the catching physics of catching monsters as pets.
