It wasn't. They kept almost everything private and didn't really socialize much, hence why they purged the actually leftist elements in the party like the Strassers and Rohm. NS Germany was basically more like dirigisme capitalism. Because people are full of ♥♥♥♥, they often have no clue what they're claiming they're just going along with whatever is trendy or politically correct. It's an act, to keep up appearances. The Nazis did what they had to do, they were running out of resources, including food. Patton as well as other allied commanders were as brutal as Adolf. They didn't want to supply or aid their enemy by giving their enemy food and supplies. They didn't care about those prisoners in the camps, they cared about their propaganda, taking ground, their war game. The Geneva convention wasn't put into practice until after World War II. The allies were expending, abandoning and executing people just like the Nazis.
