i am not totally anti ai, i do think that i has some uses in certain roles in tech fields, but i would rathering people not lose their jobs to it.
People voted for that.
Like the department that costs $800 million annually but returns over $20 billion to consumers every year who were misled by financial institutions, corporations and companies. MAGA views that as a waste.
"Government efficiency" is when Americans get scammed.
He also stated he thinks AI will replace all jobs in the end and I have to disagree.
Of course every business will replace many workers with AI all over the world. Current estimates are 300 Mio jobs are gone until 2030 worldwide.
The good news: Currently you cannot replace physical labor with AI because its far too complex. Even jobs like cleaning cannot be done by a robot. Yeah you can build robots which do a very simple cleaning task like vacuum cleaning. But cleaning is so much more complex like cleaning a bath tub, cleaning a toilet, cleaning tables and so on. You practically would need a human robot with an integrated AI for doing this job.
Try to build a skyscraper with AI and robots only. Also robots already fail at a simple task like laying tiles in a bathroom.
Robots are only used if they are cheaper and produce the same quality of work than employees and in many occasion they are not. Many complex robots are far too expensive or we are decades away from construction one.
The bad news: AI will pretty quickly replace 90 % of the employees in offices. So every job requires writing and reading is in question. Also creative jobs can easily assisted by AI so jobs like designer will heavily suffer. Same goes for software developer. But even this has a good side because this also means 90 % of lawyers will be out of a job. And they make up the majority of politicans worldwide. There is a good chance this will influence future AI laws.
and if it was your job set to be replaced?
That didn’t make workers dispensable or useless, it merely forced them to adapt to the new reality and work a different (typically less physically intensive) work.
Are you against machines tilling the fields and would like us to go back to having 90% of the workforce back into farms?
Are you against cars because that deprived coachmen and stable hands of their jobs?
Are you against ships and trains moving away from steam powered engines because people are no longer needed to shove coal inside the furnace?
Enough with the doomsaying.
The world ins changing, it has always changed and won’t stop changing; the only difference is that nowadays the change is faster than it was in the past.
We’ll be fine, just as we’ve always been fine.
I think I made myself clear. I could name 100 jobs that have been replaced by machines over the last 100 years. What's the difference?
hey, as long as you apply the same standard to yourself then there is no issue here. at least you stand by your convictions.
The only way this doesn't end in bloody revolution is if they roll out UBI. They have to do it sooner rather than later, because AI development isn't slowing down.
