oh you have that here too.. it's often ESPIALLY those who SHOULD cover up who do'n
you know such a wrinkled overweight pair of boops that make you want to wash your eyes with acid.. THOSE walk topless.. while the ones that you would not mind. to see... always have everything covered..
it's also a generational thing.. I'm 42...
but those of the "hippygeneration" now in their 60s and 70s tend to be a lot more open than mine.. and those now in their teens and twenties are intolerable prudes in my eyes..
(I mean even just showeing as a group after gym very normal in my days.. sure seperate boy and girl rooms.. now many go shower in their underwear. or a speedo. and go in the toilet to swap the wet one,, if they not refuse to shower at school at all..)
not only at the beach; all occasions
the truth will set you free
friends & pool party = it's my birthday suit party
I have no issue stepping in a communal dressing room provided it's all males.. and swap clothing to swimware...
something somehow that modern "tolerant" generation has greaaat difficulty with...
those older ones find that prude.. they are like why not just swap clothes right at the beach.. they not care that they are exposed for all to see,..
and the younger ones.. no way they have their bathing suit under their clothing before they even go to the beach...
not sure where that rise in prudeness comes from..
even if you ignore the immigrants (who tent to be more prude anyway)
even local dutch are waaay less comfortable being in a speedy or bathing suit or communal dressing room..
another example..
I may never have gone skinny dipping like hippies would.. but as a child and teen I totally when unprepared to swim have swam in my underwear...
there is NO way you would get todays teens to do that...
another one :
for me it was quite normal as a child to see my sisters or parents walk naked from bathroom to their room.. it was not that I would be IN that bathroom while they would be in there.. but the hallway.. you would cross naked... I only covered up if we had visitors .. and so did they..
this is quite uncommon under todays geenration who basicly always go in the shower with their pj on.. and exit if fully dressed..
hahaha yeah friend. georgian men are often super hairy (i am strange exception, no body hair). and there a lot of old men who will go to the beach in speedo, or short swim shorts. big hairy bellies lol... it is not my favourite sight in the world but everyone is always being kind to one another regardless.
oh yeah man you have no idea, the old peoples are like that here too. 70s year olds will just get naked at the beach sometimes, they do not give a ♥♥♥♥ lol. i guess when you reach such an age you are just not really caring what anyone thinks.
you are right, it is strange. the young people will all be wearing bathing suits and such, but all the old people are either naked or wearing revealing stuffs...very strange. i do not know when younger people became the prudes. :P
what do you mean required? law requires this or just rules of certain places? i am sure i could just be googling why but sometimes it is more fun to hear it from a local.
somehow I now have images of georgian beaches being full of 70yo versions of borat:P
pretty much what it looks like hahaha, though they do not wear the "banana hammock" like him
I noticed your reply by accident. I deleted because I didn't answer the question, but it was of interest anyway I guess. 🤔 To go swimming in a public pool in France, men are required to wear speedo type trunks, not general purpose shorts that someone might have been sitting around in beforehand, gathering dust and dirt. You can get away with things like jammers, so it's more about tight fitting swimswear than "speedo", but most men and boys just wear speedos.
It's regulated at municipality level I think, but I can't think of a single one that does not have this requirement, and it's just accepted at a cultural level that tight swimwear for men is more hygienic (less dirt getting into the pool when it's required of everyone), and more efficient (less water being absorbed and taken out of the pool when they leave*).
* I read an article in a newspaper stating that if everyone wore normal shorts in a pool that has thousands of visitors a day, each one takes an average of 100ml out of the pool when they leave. This equates to hundreds of litres being removed from the pool each day compared to a fraction with an enforced "tight swimwear" rule.
ahhh, i see. thank you for the correction
this makes perfect sense, about the hygiene aspect. i guess i never really thought about such things, but yes especially in swimming pools jammers/swimshorts are definitely picking up a lot more filth, and soaking up way more water from the pools themselves as you say.
thank you for the infos! i feel as though i had heard about this "speedo only" rule before, but i could not remember from where.
