But its un-realistic. Greenlands population had 6% say they would like US as a overlord, but over 70% wants to keep things as they are.
Denmark is supported by the EU so there is no risk if armed conflict, nor with Canada.
The only losers with Trumps politics are the American middle class, Arabs in Gaza and illegal immigrants in the US
Agreed, also this invasion would open up can of nasty worms. It would green lit, China and Russia to go ahead with their designs.
China definitely would take advantage of the situation and invade Taiwan just because US did it with Canada and Greenland.
Not only that but Greenland is covered by NATO. If MrT decided to take over Greenland they could invoke Article 5, which calls NATO to defend it's borders. The remaining countries of NATO would be obliged to declare war on the USA. What a paperwork mess that would be!
NATO are weaklings. They've given most of their weapons to the lost cause that is Ukraine. The US was propping up most of it.
America IS NATO.
If Trump threatens to pull out of NATO and leave Europe exposed to Russia, they will quickly change their minds about involving in Greenland.
The US isn't going to invade either of them, so it would be hard to justify invading the US if any acquisition was made. Trump like to put an offer on the table, just in case there is willing party wishing to join. I am surprised northerner Mexico wasn't suggested, that is where all the factories have moved to, a few northern Mexican states willingly join, and the US gets its factories back that have move there over the last few decades.
If he goes crazy enough (the decline is very visible), he will see 4 years as the deadline for these goals. The fact that he hasn't ruled out the use of military force is already extremely concerning.
