Wizards of the Coast hires fired Failguard director Corinne Busche - avoid their games like the plague

They are the company behind Magic The Gathering, D&D and more. and they've just hired the certified game-killer, the demonic Corinne Busche to work on their next game.

Their homepage has an entire section dedicated to DEI (aka "Discrimination, Exclusion, Intolerance") so this doesn't particularly come as a shock.

but what baffles me is the blatant willingness to put their own company out of business, as if they haven't learned any lessons from the 10s or 100s of thousands of jobs lost in the past year from multiple studio shutdowns because their games absolutely sucked.

this also coming AFTER their own game D&D Dark Alliance is literally getting shut down because it failed so hard - and it was worked on by Sweet Baby. this is literally like drinking bleach even though you know full well it will end you.

unfortunately that's the only way they're gonna learn their lesson, so I cannot wait for their next game...so that I can watch it flop hard, like a car crash in slo-mo.

In a normal world, what you said would be common sense. Today though people would rather flail their arms around and complain about wokeness than to just not buy the product in the first place. Not to mention these are the same people who cry about censorship and are the first ones to petition big daddy government and it's corporate goons to censor people.

We put all the blame on these people, yet no one blames the CEOs who made the decision to make Veilguard how it was. How come the CEO didn't step in and say "hey I don't like this product and it doesn't represent this company. You should change this, this, and this?" Someone had to green light it. But of course people want her to be homeless and in the streets so then they can complain that she's taking hand outs from the government. There is literally no winning with these people.

The reason people shouldn't have bought Veilguard wasn't because it was woke, but because it was made by a company with a track record for the past decade of making and green lighting terrible games. The reason people shouldn't buy magic isn't because of wokeness, but because of the money grabbing BS Hasbro was green lit such as secret lairs. Wokeness has become a smoke screen to avoid the real issue which is CORPORATE GREED. The real people who should take flack never do because people are obsessed with culture war garbage.

This sh!t really grinds my damn gears because I'm tired of the soul sucking goons at the very top with getting away with pillaging and destroying everything in their way while everyone else gets attacked for some made up bull like "wOkEnEsS". Will people stop buying the product though? NOPE! Because they got that fear of missing out they will continue to buy the damn corporate slop and then turn around and complain about how much they hate it. They just won't ever stop consuming and the corporations will keep doing this because it makes money. Because we live in an era where people hate purchase and hate watch content and products.

People believe what social media tells them. I will say though just because something is a success doesn't mean it's good. Marvel movies are successful and I think they are boring hot garbage, but what I do is just not go to see them or rent them or whatever. The nerds online though think different. They think because they didn't like something that it's because it's woke so they need to go on a hyper political crusade about it. They are the first ones to say "well not all media should cater to someone" when it's something they like that excludes people, but when someone makes media that excludes them? "WOOOOOOKKKKEEEEE!!!!!!" The vast majority of media today is absolute corporate garbage, but it has nothing to do with it being woke as these dweebs say and has everything to do with being bought out, soul less, lowest common denominator, low effort high gains garbage.

I know of a few disabled users who got some trial units before they came out and it was impressive and could track well. Then before production, they gimped it to be built down to cost.

Yet it sold gangbusters. Was used for 5 minutes and never again when even those who liked it realised it was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ useless at it's job.

All that will largely go to landfill - it sold gangbusters yet was objectively awful and substandard.

Or we could look at the many times 3D has been pushed out. In my lifetime alone I remember 3 separate times, all failing.

Because I've said it many times. I'm an old fart in his late fifties.

So I grew up in the 1970s, and I loved it because it was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome time for music here in Britain.

I went through (thanks to my elder brothers) The Beatles and the late 60s, but for myself I got to be into Slade, Alice Cooper, Sweet, David Bowie and all that glam rock stuff.

All of that was blokes wearing heavy make up, very androgynous to the extent David Bowie created a character that specifically was that. He also had no fear in doing things like appearing on an album cover in a dress.

By the mid 70s pub rock becamse a thing. Dr Feelgood, Tom Robinson Band, The PIrates and loads of others were doing the rounds. Tom Robinson himself was gay.

On his hit record "2468 Motorway" the bside was "Glad to be gay" and it was an anthem. It was part and parcel of getting the law changed here in Britain for the age of consent for gays.

Then punk happened and there's PLENTY of punk artists and songs about taboo subjects, being gay, trans and so on. Take for example the famous song "ca Plane pour moi" which had a resurgence in recent years. The original of that sone was "jet Boy Jet Girl" and has some CRAZY lyrics I won't repeat here.

Then we get into post punk, new romanticism where once again men wore flouncy outfits and heavy make up. Boy George appeared on top of the Pops to do Culture Club's first number one and loads of gammon faced men got ridiculed by their buddies next day at work when they expressed a wish to screw that bird on TOTP only to learn it was a guy.

And so on, and so on.
