AI-powered NPCs
There are finally games on the horizon that will use AI powered NPCs and they will react uniquely to the player.

Is this the future of gaming?

Skyrim already has a mod for it.

And it is hilarious!

Artificial Intelligence. Games where the Non-Playable Characters react to the Player Character in ways that are not constrained by hard-coded responses.

Not exactly new.

Nor has it yet shown any signs of quality.
There already have also been test games with using AI for NPC's in games. Alot of rpg's may use them in the future if there more dynamic.

What really interested me was when they tested a AI in No Mans Sky to test a driving AI to learn how to drive stuff.

i hope not.

i do not fully despise the technology of AI. i am thinking that it definitely has its uses, mostly in mathematical fields to find errors in technologies and equations and such.

but in the realm of art and media? i would rather AI just stay far, far, away. an artificial intelligence, even one studying real human artists, to me is not an artist.

When the AI becomes less insane in how it hallucinate stuff, then I believe NPCs in games will become such a hit that nothing a none AI can ever come close to.

I hope and wish it at least, I can't see the future nor do I know how AI works so I'm mostly just having wishful thoughts! :P
