I believe in the afterlife because of two ideas, I personally believe time is infinite, either in one continuous run or in random bursts. I also believe that anything that happens once can happen again. Combined with my belief of infinite time that means I will live again after an unimaginable number of realities have existed between now and then. It is possible to me that I am already alive somewhere else out there past the void and will never know it.

My belief of something that happens once and can happen again wraps back around to time, since time has existed once it will eventually exist again after our universe dies.
