there has never been any nvidra geberation where the xx70 was as fast as last gen x80ti let alone xx90

it is common for 2 generations to do that..

a 4090 is about twice as powerfull as a 2080ti and just shy of twice as powerfull as titan rtx

a 4070 is about as poewefull as a titan rtx and a few percent above a 2080ti

so a 6070 being almost as poerrfull as a 4090. and as powerfull as a 4080S. yes I see that happen.

but the 5070? nope!
maybe the 5080 will be 4090 powerfull.

The 4070ti is more powerful than a 3090
a 3070 was only a little worse than a 2080ti (like 2-5 percent)

The 2070super was about 10% worse than 1080ti

Nvidia has actually been making better 70s.... though that's only because the 4070ti was originally supposed to be a 4080 (12 GB Edition) but people hated the idea of two 4080s so they rebranded it.

Next the RTX 6000 series will use DLSS5, Then the RTX 7000 series will use DLSS6.

The release intervals for GPU generations does seem to be getting much closer together, the performance differences are making less, and less actual difference in gaming. Unreal Engine 5 is extremely unoptimized and there are videos looking behind the scenes of the software that show why. And a lot of the unoptimization is just getting covered over by gimmicks like DLSS, now not only running your games in lower resolution while claiming 1080p, 1440, 4K, etc, but even interpolating data between frames to fake frame rate too.

So in actuality, these new games that look about the same as they did 10 years ago are running at 900p, some times lower, at sub 60fps frame rates, with DLSS masking the fact you're getting less performance with newer technology relative to the gaming engines they're using now.

People, this is ALL to reduce the costs of game development by eliminating optimization, and masking the ugliness of the fact behind faking it. By all means, by the next latest and greatest GPU every gen, and contribute to the problem. Just don't come pissing and moaning later about corporate this, CEO that later.

What's the point? Frankly I will never understand those who make such purchases, except if it is for professional purposes, but for gaming it is just paying a high price for something that will never be used 100%, apart from showing off it will simply remain a waste of money...

So lame. When they ditch DLSS and these things can run at maximum settings in 4k without cheats then they'll be worth my time. Did I mention DLSS is lame? And so is FSR.

In reality maybe 25% better rasterization performance then 4070. It`s all DLSS.
