Microsoft created a new type of matter-superconductivity

Microsoft (MSFT) is changing what you learned about the states of matter in elementary school with a creation that it said will advance “the path to useful quantum computing.”

As part of what it calls the “year to become Quantum-Ready,” the company unveiled its first quantum computing chip, Majorana 1, built with “topological superconductors” or “topoconductors” — a “breakthrough” material that enabled the company to create a new state of matter called “topological superconductivity.”

Quantum computers are almost completely useless.

They can only perform a certain type of mathematics that has very few real world applications.

Even their ability to crack computer codes has largely been made redundant because high security companies (banks and the military) have been moving to a type of encryption that can not be cracked using quantum computers.

It's so difficult to even find an application for quantum computers, that Elon Musk has offered $5m to anyone who can come up with something new.

Quantum computers have been advertised for several years, but so far these computers have not cracked a single code.
All this is fashionable marketing. No one knows exactly how the prototypes of these computers presented on the market are designed. Most likely, they have nothing in common with the declared hypothesis of quantum entanglement.
