Death penalty is too humane, quick, and easy for them, and strangely often costs more than life in prision.
As for other people, it all depends on the crime.
Like there shouldn't even be penalties for "non-violent victimless crimes", as that is such an oxymoron.
And non-violent crimes should have a path to redemption and full re-integration and restoration of rights.
Trying to rehabilitate anyone who shows no sign of remorse or repeat offender is a waste of time and money. Also no reason to keep them alive for decades when they won't do anything worthwhile.
So ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid.
I like how Japan does it "Oh, you gonna die... We just aren't gonna tell you when! Could be 20 years from now... Could be this afternoon! Now off to solitary with you!"
They don't ♥♥♥♥ around. Russia is very open with it. "okay, you're here for the rest of your life. Enjoy your new home in this box. Oh, and your celly is another mass murderer."
80 year old prefer to retire themselves from crime
I thought Russia's thing was just Putin or his cronies pushing people out windows and calling it an "accident".
How about rock, paper, scissors?
Russians could make export good out of their gulags, or import good(?)
You know, if their "president" wasn't a psycho...
Putin was doomed to be groomed from the start. He had no chance.
Eh, I miss the times of Yeltzin, the guy was just constantly wasted and done no harm. ;P
