I used to like Dubstep. It was more of a phase when it got popular. Now I think it sounds retarded, other than certain electronic songs with some very slight bass wobble every once in a while or something. But, I'm not really a fan of Dubstep.

Because its non-melodic music. Also there far more bad dubstep than good doobstep compositions (the good ones are usually rotated on big tournament streams)

I prefer old melodic DnB / Techno or Ambient tracks over dub/break/chip/whatever step. And there were bad dnb / techno / ambient tracks too in past.

Everyone hated dubstep probably because it was too prevalent in mid 00's, but now th old styles are back so everyone happy.

IDK, just not what they like I guess. I like dubstep, trance, and even a little bit of nightcore. (And for all you ♥♥♥ htcore freaks, Nightcore and Trance are similar so just shut up!)

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Skrillex. On one hand, thanks to him, the general populace has actually heard of dubstep. On the other hand, his music has single-handedly turned most people away from the genre, and EDM in general(more on that later). I don't fault people for hating Skrillex; hell, I do to. Most of his music is crap, IMO. But listening to Skrillex and then making a generalization based on that, is like listening to rap on the radio and then saying that all rap sucks. The radio rarely represent the best that a genre has to offer.

No one who actually listens to those three songs can tell me they all sound the same, at least not without lying. Dubstep covers a BROAD range of music, and has various subgenres(the second song is chillstep, skrillex is bro-step). Saying that it all sounds the same is like saying that all rock music sounds the same.

This typically stems from the hate for dubstep, which is why I include it here. Electronic Dance Music(EDM) contains many genres, including:
-Dubstep
-Drum and Base
-Drumstep
-Electro
-Glitch Hop
-Trance
-Hard Dance
And more than a few others. Just because you don't like dubstep doesn't mean you won't like a different genre, in the same way that disliking punk doesn't mean you can't like modern rock.

Maybe, in the same sense that anyone with a paintbrush can make a painting, or anyone with a camera can be a photographer. Just because you give someone the materials, doesn't mean they can actually deliver.

Skrillex's music is Freestyle and Brostep, not Dubstep. Blame the people, not the artist. (no offense)

Now if I wanted something that would make me crash a car, or if I willingly wanted to give myself a migraine headache, Dubstep might work well for that.

Dubstep is the musical version of trolling. It usually starts off nice with a good melody or beat, luring a person in to a false sense of security/serenity or even gets people to dance... Then they do the "Troll DROP" where the whole song just falls down the stairs, before getting hit by a car, then abused by a creepy homeless person in an alley, right before getting wedged into a trashcan full of rabid cats and raccoons fighting over a bunch of plugged in dial-up modems that are constantly trying to connect.

So far I only liked some songs from dubstep, I don't hate it but I am not in "love" with this kind of music, I enjoy listening from time to time.
