The Most Disliked Music Genre

What do you think is the most disliked music genre? (most disliked by OFF TOPIC members)

After being on this forum for a few years and seeing multiple music threads pop up here n there, I think the most disliked genre of this forum is RAP. It seems rap is by far the most disliked by off topic users.

Let's see though - is this true? What is ur most disliked music genre guys?

I believe most ppl don't dislike Johnny Cash at least.

Now Johnny Cash I can get behind because he did indeed do country but he also had a tone that was like Woddy Guthrie where he was protesting about things in certain songs.

That's the sort of balls I'm talking about.

I think most people like the Country classics in general. But the genre as a whole has gotten a little stale.

even though people like nas, kanye, kendrick, MF DOOM, Jay-Z, and even newer artists like travis scott have been pushing the boundaries of music and constantly making 10/10 songs/entire albums, people still find a way to hate.

I've heard of some of them, and none of them are that appealing. Maybe it's because I grew up in a household of rock/country mix but rap just sounds like it's missing something. Maybe I'm used to music having...well...actual instruments to them, where the guitars are just as important (if not more) than what's actually being said instead of the other way around.

I've tried to get into rap before years ago, but to no avail. Nothing against the genre or anything, it's just the genre that immediately comes to mind when I have to think of music I dislike listening to ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But then again I unironically enjoy Nickelback so what do I know

For myself the reason I don't like modern rap is because it's lazy.

Much of it lacks any passion or meaning any more. I'm not just talking about mainstream stuff either.

It's either "look how rich I claim I am blah blah blah" and not much else.

Now back when NWA nad Public Enemy were on the go, that was different. They spat out their lyrics with bile and feeling, protesting the social ills of the time.

That was something else.

-Lofi hip hop
-Classical instrumental
-Jazz
-Spanish music
-Some rap (it needs to be intricate -- like NF)
-Some classic rock (pink Floyd for instance)
-Some indie rock or grunge/punk rock (I guess we could classify Linkin park as that, soundgarden and nirvana as grunge). Also tool.

I was interested in what Screamcore was so I googled it...

Personally I despise serbian rap.

Nightcore is not a genre, wish people would stop saying it is.

Speeding up a pop song doesn't change its genre, Thats not how it works. Its just a ruined pop song.

As for most disliked genre its subjective, personally for me its rap.

I can´t really listen to most classical music. And if listening to jazz i ask myself when the song actually starts - it´s probably the most depressing music humans ever made. And i don´t like German Schlager or Volksmusik. March music isn´t my thing either. Else it depends, but these are probably all on the same level for me.

Nah, too edgy in my opinion. They have some good instrumental sometimes but the vocals and theme are always to shock, not to show talent

Personally? Nightcore. Generally? Rap.

Rap is disliked objectively? I disagree.

I would say Folk Metal.

On Off-Topic? Yes. In the world? Hard to say.
