This still makes my blood boil to this day that my own UK Labour government. Labour who are meant to the party of the people made a decision to protect the banking system, the elites and the wealthy by giving them tens upon tens of billions of pounds while allowing small family run businesses to collapse and while watching the little guy lose his job, his home and livelyhood. I will never vote labour again after this nonsense.

yep, the great disappointment of the left around the world. same thing happened here with our own left party, the only left party that ever became government in Greece. they went through the roof after 2010 to 2015 in the elections back then to around 2019.
they also disappointed the people around who trusted in them and voted for them and of course lead to a great disillusion about the left as well as the right parties who sank the country in debt ever since the 80s, way before the left took charge.
this year the absence from the elections was around 50%. 1 out of 2 ppl just didn't even bother.
only proves that what is gonna happen, its gonna happen either with left governments or right, doesn't matter to the global financialized capital.

I do believe money and power corrupts and once your in that circle of wealth and money, nothing else matters and the poor people can go jump.

I seen it time and time again during my working life, someone who has good values and morals and who wants to help his fellow man. Moves up the ladder, earns more money, gets a nicer house, a flasher car and all of sudden, the people under him/her mean nothing. Sad but true.

Our own competitive nature keeps us divided, the same way corporations compete to win at all cost. I think that capitalism has become so entrenched within us all that we have become fodder to live exactly how they intend. Brainwashed in a way to live our lives as one endless competition.

Sure, but all the issues with "big business" stem from the amount of control and power they have. Just look at what they were able to do with Covid, look who the driving forces behind Ukraine aid is. They're big mega corporations. The problem is these problems only get bigger, and the people responsible gain power, should the ideology those who say we need socialism to push, ever got pushed. The power becomes centralized in the hands of an even smaller, fewer group of people.

What we need is people to challenge those businesses, so they're not sitting atop an industry untouchable. And the fact they're untouchable is made apparent with every bailout, every "too big to fail" movement from our government, and the fact regulatory agencies have created red tape for the sole purpose of gate-keeping markets on their behalf. We have too many regulations which have made it anything but a fair playing field.
