I've seen mooses weak and being drained of their blood but they were infested with ticks and other blood sucking bugs, so if there's a hundred thousand of them on you you might feel a little dizzy

550k sounds a lot BUT what i have heard there can be swarms of tens of thousands in north parts of my country. If there has been particularly rainy and hot Summer those swarms can be massive. My sister's ex husband was once visiting those parts of Finland, and his boys needed to have a bathroom break, and went towards the forest but ran back into car just few min later. They got chased by something that looked like few black clouds and looking at them closer through windows it was all just thousands and thousands of mosquitos.

Mosquitos love my blood.

As a kid, I figured out you could gently pinch the skin either side of a mosquito sucking your blood, flex a little and it will stay there sucking away. Sometimes till it explodes!

When the ventral nerve cord of a mosquito is severed, it no longer has a sense of being full and will consume blood until it quadruples it's body weight and explodes.

It leaves a big mosquito bite mark though.
