Not everyone does.

Hours track the moment you press play. This means being idle on the title screen to waiting to connect to a MM server.

It is irrelevant to anyone else. They can do as they wish because they want to.

Well i know some use it for cards but maybe i have been looking at different profiles that go through the roof with hours played in the past 2 weeks and achievements unlocked on the same day and time, like don't you just wanna earn it legit?

Some games also offer all achievements just by opening the game.

trading cards, no.. ive no time for that.. i wanna enjoy the games not feel forced to be in a game for 4 hours just because im missing a card.. that would ruin my game experience.. i dont care about hours, unless its the 2 hours needed to get game point shop emojis or stuff like that, the achievements id rather earn on my own.. :winter2019happyyul:

To make them feel better about themselves?

In the world today it's all about looks then actual content.

Some people are actually competitive idlers. They'll idle dozens of games concurrently, 24/7, to see who can get the highest hours recorded on their profiles. I'm talking absurd amounts of hours, like 10,000 in just two weeks.

It's weird, but each to their own I guess.

That is something i didn't know, thank you for that... indeed weird but thanks for clearing it up i'm less confused now lol

Why does it matter to you what other people like to do?

No idea why some people do that. I don't see the fun in it, but if they somehow do, more power to them I guess.

There are some websites that track hours and achievements and you can get benefits like a coupon or something. But most of those are offline now (raptr, playfire etc. ). I think that people do it just to show off, though it doesn't matter. I would rather see a gameplay vid with smart plays than just hours and achievements.
