Is buying Steam Gifts through G2A ok?
TL;DR buy a key or gift from G2A?
So, I have been craving a copy of Rocket League for months now, and am not willing to pay £14.99 for a game even though the developers probably deserve every penny of it becuase, yes, I have just gotten my debit card and my mum kills me everytime a purchase from 'Steamgames.Luxembourg.SA' or something comes in for even £5..
The sale for it [Rocket League] never came and I have turned to G2A (don't worry, I'm not converted yet) and have been pondering on a steam gift being sold for the not so discounted price of £11.78, which is still a discount though. I have gotten to filling in my credit card details and then became worried after hearing about scams throught G2A-yet my seller is Canadian and has a 100% rating with 10,000 or more sells. Should I buy it, and will there be any risks in it as opposed to buying a key?

It's ok, just be careful with the seller you choose. I only have bought one game as a gist, mass Effect, and I have no problem. I also bought many keys without any inconvenience.
Okay, thanks! So I shoudl choose a seller with 95% rating and about 575 sells, or a steam gift seller with 100% and 63254 sells at a more expensive price?
It's censored by steam filtering on purpose.

Grey area third party website - use at your own risk, if scammed steam support won't help you.

You run the risk of stolen keys, revoked/cancelled at a later date, region locked, scam/spam adders, faked rep, payment cancellations, etc.

Has blacklist mark as FSA - Sites engaged in the selling or distribution of bogus or fraudulent applications and/or provision of fraudulent services. However, it's users selling to other users, so entirely depends on each individual transaction - much like Ebay (trusted or scammer).

Phew, lucky I chose a 100% seller-I am now a proud (for now!) owner of Rocket League! (Without G2A shield #ThugLife)

That's where PayPal helps.

So you can revoke the seller? It's a risk either way you look at it.
Seeing how the name is being blocked out, I'd say no.

No. Just get your money back. The website never respond to their PayPal messages that PayPal send (probably because of all the people who buy stuff). When you open a PayPal case, you pretty much have a 100% chance of getting your money back.

You didn't quite get me... think of it the other way around.

If you are a seller - the buyer using paypal has a high chance of scamming you, if so desired. Since it's outside the scope of Steam Trading rules, this means you can't confirm/deny the transactions either via Steam Support or Paypal Support. It is very high risk to both parties.

It's all well and dandy till something bad happens, then you realise you have no coverage.

I don't think the seller has to return any money nor the buyer. PayPal just takes it all from the website. :P

May I sell gift subscriptions?
Steam Gift Purchases cannot be sold. Attempting to sell a gift subscription is a violation of the Steam Subscriber Agreement and may result in your account being permanently disabled. You can trade gifts using our new Steam Trading system and can read more about that here.

Use the shield, its is worth it and you get a 1 month free trial period. It basicly garuntees you get your game key or your money back.
If the person who buys the key revokes their purchase after you add the code to your Steam account, it can cause quite a few problems for you.

Have fun with your game though!
Thanks to all who contributed, hopefully now I can blast around a stadium doing backflips in cars without too many problems!
