I have GTA 3 and VC and never really played them, compared to other games from the time, GTA 3 and VC are highly primitive in design. It would be great to get a proper remaster of SA though, i just hope the remaster doesn't change the character of what it is.
SA had some limits i never really liked. you drive one of those camper vans off the side of Chiliad and when it finally comes time for it to explode, it has despawned off the map, in fact the the whole 125m distance to spawn and depawn objects is often frustrating and the limited amount of spawns as well.
SA also had a constant sound bug, especially when raining or during explosions. So i hope these issues are at least rectified.
No need to revoice any of it as there are audio techniques that can improve the quality of the various lines of spoken dialogue. But yeah, new licences are needed and some artists might not wish to lease out their music tracks a second time, so i hope there is a replacement if needed.
I can see your argument. New content would be nice.
But then why not just start new? If you aren't going to get Ray Liotta or use any eighties music then why even bother remaking it? Just make actual DLC for GTA V.
SA is the best GTA game ever. I hope Rockstar spare no expense bringing GTA SA up to standards and giving it a much needed boost if it is a simple remaster.
if it 's a remake, i hope the GTA V map is used with some massive expansion across to San Fierro and Los Venturas. new characters, the whole bit. If the remake is a smashing success, perhaps Rockstar could add GTA V SP expansion DLC's, that brings the other cities to the world and some brand new stories in each city, distinct and different and no connection to character of the other cities.

I prefer my V1.0 pirated San Andreas, even if i have the 2.0 retail legitimately purchased, because it has mod support and i can activate the Hot Coffee. Remaster can gtfo.
The HD improved version isn't a remaster. It was something cobbled together and clearly Rockstar didn't put any real effort into it.
An actual remaster would be a different matter in that they will have to strip out parts of the original game and code and and rebuild it, this includes going from an ancient 32 bit system to 64 bit so it can work properly with modern hardware and OS. i'd imagine pulling out some of the dinosaur audio solutions and what not is also on the table and replacing them with a better standard.
In all that i can't imagine they'd leave some of those ancient limitations in place as computing back then isn't a fraction of what computers can run these days, so there is a very marked improvement to be found across the board as far as what can be developed out a lot more.
I’m sure that we’ll be seeing tons of major graphical improvements, QoL additions, and bug fixes that will make these the definitive editions of those games. It will be a perfect package for both new and old fans alike, on par with other great remasters of recent times such as Dark Souls: Remastered and Kingdoms of Amalie: Re-Reckoning.
