It just comes down to "why pay others to do what you can do yourself". There is no reason to lose 30% per sale from steam when they can competently handle their own distribution services.
Actualy, it is now up to Microsoft as they have bought Mojang Studios and all it's assets/games for something like $2 billion.
The "Storey Mode" is a Telltale game based on Minecraft. Mojang had nothing to do with it's development.
Notch (the ex-owner of Mojang) said he would never put Minecraft on Steam. With it now in MS hand, I would have to say it is even less likely now.
Taletale is going to make the cash, after the minecraft share is payed out. Who, as a good dev, wouldn't take a cut of money to a commercial for their game that another company paid them to make?
Except it isn't up to Mojang, but to Microsoft as Microsoft now owns Mojang and all it's IP.
Oh yeah i forgot about Microsoft buying Mojang
Microsoft getting married ? pfffft yeah right, we all know that rich pimp has alot of "owned property" he could have some "harmony" on at any given time.
