Palworld can be tho
Palworld was too short lived to be GotY.
It's fun, but I don't think it stands a chance.
Dragons Dogma 2 had a terrible launch, I don't know how much they fixed by now.
Wukong seems a promising candidate for now.
Helldiver had strong popularity as well, but that wearing off.
Dragon dogma 2 could've had good start, but miss that window, and wasn't idea either due to how demanding the game, I mean yikes.
Stalker 2 hard to say as not even out yet.
God of war Ragnarok just came out 2022 so unless meant for steam awards, or PC award then make sense.
Palworld just hype the came, and go all in one shot over it couple months.
Minor correction: the western games industry and bloggers
When I wrote for magazines, every single person wh worked at magazines looked forward to them for one thing only - the bar and getting pissed.
They mean absolutely nothing, as they're just a marketing thing and I've never had any interets in falling for that.
(seriously, most games that've won GOTY, I've had no interest in. Just like Best Picture - it's not going to make me play/watch something I wasn't going to in the first place. And a game that I like winning GOTY doesn't make me somehow cooler or more justified in playing that game.)
Wukong for both.
