which was always the point of wearing a mask... and how it got twisted beyond that is some social construct where masks will protect you idk, no one ever said that.
maybe you should consider wearing a mask if you need to be out in public and you think you might be sick.

It depends on the type of masks if they only protect other people from you or if the mask also protects you from other people. Regular surgical masks are sufficient for protecting other people (which is why they are used during surgery: It is supposed to prevent someone infecting the wound of the patient). if you are sick yourself.
