Modern day vampires?
So I just heard this theory.
The whole child abuse ring with world leaders and cults.

The idea is to treat people in certain ways in order to change their blood chemistry.
ie endocrine levels or something

Then drink that blood for "reasons".

double edged sword since those providing the fodder would have strings of shame to control.

Thoughts?

More like an annual ritual or something? IDK

But realistically I doubt it would be in their day to day lifestyle. Ha ha

At least not in the modern age.

Oh, I don't think it was daily for Vlad - but he was well-known to take meals right across the street from where he impaled people.
He had entrails strewn about the table where he ate and dead bodies decorated the dining room. He also beat his own son to death with a sceptre of some kind.

Some of these stories were most likely invented by the Transylvanian Saxons, with whom Tepes was in conflict. So either outright lies or greatly exaggerated truth.

that was Ivan the Terrible.

Maybe, there is no way to know but I know which I prefer to believe.

I can see where's it coming from and honestly nothing would surprise me. Heck, I believe it.

Honestly that is exactly how I feel about it.

I don't know, but it sure wouldn't surprise me to find out it was true.

Frankly my mind just can't fathom child abuse, but I can see those who lust for power using this as their reasoning.

In nature, bats are the closest thing we got to vampires and they are not immortal.

The fantasy idea of a vampire consists of 3 elements:
- consumes blood as a sustenance
- is immortal under optimal conditions
- is capable of supernatural displays of power, whatever that is

A bat only fits the first element.

Are there immortal organisms on this planet, under optimal conditions:
yes, the jellyfish and certain species of sharks

Are there any beings capable to wield supernatural powers? I don't know.

So, there's no reason to believe any humanoid vampires exist.

i don't really believe in it, but some people claim that humans can live up to 900 years old with the appropriate diet and lifestyle.

The whole child abuse thing has very little to do with sexual attraction as usually presented and many different reasons and one of them is related to vampirism, but also cannibalism.

There are several reasons why they prefer children - taste, quality and simple ergonomics (easier to transport and handle). Predators love the taste of adrenaline infused meat while omnivores generally dislike it even though it can be addicting - ask a hunter - they know about it.

Modern research into vampirism indicates that human variants who NEED to drink blood is actually a designed weakness to keep those types under control by the "elder" or "pure blood" vamps who don't need to consume blood to survive (but they still benefit from doing so). Lower breeds NEED to drink blood as it relates to a worm-like parasites that they get infused with - the parasite needs to be fed or it will cannabilize the host.

These parasites have been reported to be infused in certain drugs and medical applications so if you take this stuff seriously; recommend to keep your blood pure. (although that might make you more attractive to vampires).

energy vampires are the worst
If this is a thing people really believe then I'm doubling down on my desire for global nuclear annihilation.
