I heard all the space-age insulation, fuel, glue, etc was all systematically declared illegal to manufacture anymore so now we use less efficient stuff that costs so much we just can't use it.
soviet gave up, usa not see interest and was busy with vietnam war, china were too poor and europe it just they suck and india is india
so in theory 2020 is the decade for second moon race, because china dont care who go first, they will go to moon before or after usa is not matter for them and usa just want to prove they are still reliable in space
but unfortunally we lost soviet, india is not ready yet and europe suck more than in 60s and 70s
Also a couple of European companies contributed to Apollo 11. Like the lenses of the cameras were European, without which there would be no footage of the whole thing.
You might be thinking Space X at least earned that contract fair and square. And by sheer coincidence, the government employee who was directly in charge of deciding which company would get the contract. They decided to give it to SpaceX solely off their own recommendation. That one employee decided the whole thing. And that one employee working for the government shortly after making that decision, they quit their government job, joined SpaceX, and received a massive compensation from the company for giving them the 3 billion dollar contract.
So the simple answer is corruption and incompetence in the industry. Massive corruption, with a hint of mild incompetence. Cuz delivering 3% means they aren't completely incompetent in my books, just mildly so.
The Russians went to Venus and were able to take photographic images of its surface long before the US did anything like that. If the moon landing was true then I just pity what humanity could have achieved back then had everyone pulled together to reach the stars. Humans could have been a lot farther in the solar system today if they worked together instead of against each other. If Russians landed on Venus and US moon, imagine if they worked together? We would have had colonized many other moons and planets by now. Instead that money and resources are used to wage war against each other creating WMDs to kill eachother thereby dooming themselves to die on this planet before humanity could ever reach the stars.
Maybe in an alternate parallel universe humanity did become a spacefaring species but in this universe maybe our fate is to kill eachother by using WMDs? Thus halting progress towards the stars.
Just my 2 cents.
