Opinions on upcoming censorship/ban of violence and sexual content in video games?

Thats why rating systems were created, so that you would know and could choose games that have certain content. The market has spoken loudly... nonviolent games tend to be boring and don't sell well. Sexy games sell really well, but maybe don't tell your friends you buy them.
Interference with this delicate balance will probably make some people very violent or very sexy.

I'll weather it. There was a time when such content wasn't allowed before. If I really get an itch for any of it, GOG is not in the US, it'll have the games probably banned in the States.

It is. When there was a mass shooting, Trump blamed video games and even made inquiries regarding his authority to restrict or ban video games to "reduce violence". He based that on the observation that the mass shooter had played GTA in the past.

Regarding sexual content, MAGA is full on board with ID laws so you must send all your personal info to the providers to have access. And the radical Project 2025 agenda seeks to impose a full ban on "obscenity".
