Could a lightsaber cut superman ?

I was just thinking about this and I have no clue haha. This is assuming he is on earth and there is no kryptonite. And if it can who would win ? A Jedi or superman? Jedi vs superman- dawn of Jedi

On another note could it cut Adamantium or Vibranium

Unknown. It could possibly melt them, but seeing as this is all fictional and there will never be a cross-over to test it, I doubt we will ever know.

Then again, if this does become real, we would also need to create Superman too in order to test the saber, which I think would be much harder than building that lightsaber.

How exactly? Superman is STEEL! Goku is past punching metal effortlessly, heck, Raditz punched and lifted a car with no effort. Goku in the final saga of DBZ (it actually does matter exactly what saga, heh), is more than a million times stronger than that.

Lightsabers aren't all that powerful. If you see how much effort it takes them to cut through metal/alloy doors, they have a fairly low level of energy. Superman has been hit by levels of energy numerous magnitudes greater than that. He could grab the blade, yank the thing from their hands and crush the device itself effortlessly.

in a real fight between jedi and sith combo versus superman, superman will always win due to his speed, laser eyes, and strength.
he can lure the jedi into the dark side by 'join me and together we will destroy the sith'.
he can lure the sith into the light side by using his laser eyes to lit the candles in a dark room

But the lightsaber can not cut everything, for example, other lightsabers, special rods with some kind of current running through it and most likely energy fields of some kind. There may even be more substances it can't cut.

okay, a lightsaber can cut anything that is not a lightsaber blade or a vibroblade or energy field.

Assuming the science fiction weapon works on science rather than magic, it is most likely unable to cut through any of those things because of magnetic fields, not because of whatever substance they're made from.

Simple. Yes, Goku is very strong, but he's only as strong as the limitations he has. Yes, he can break his limits, but that does not change the fact that he limits. Superman HAS no limits. He can go into the sun to turn into his super powerful form if he wanted to, which he wouldn't need to, and obliterate Goku.

Superman has no limits. He's lifted infinity, he's never been beaten (except that one time when he wasn't at his full strength, which doesn't really count - basically like saying Goku is weak cuz he was beaten by Raditz that one time).

The problem with saying who would win - Goku or Superman - is that they exist in completely different universes with completely different rules. Goku is a man, a man with limits. He trains hard and will always find a way to surpass his limits - even beat seemingly unbeatable enemies such as Kid Buu. He's even fought a God and technically won. Now, whilst you could say that I just gave you a good reason why Goku can beat Superman, read the next paragraph before going "HAHAHA TOLD YOU SO!!!" (sorry if that sounded a bit rude, didn't mean to sound like a douche >.<)

Superman is a man without limits. He has weaknesses, everyone does, but there is no limit to his strength. He is not meant to be beaten. He is meant to be force of unstoppable good, and whilst I hate to admit it, the stats say Superman would win, simply because of the Universe they live in.

However, if you were to take Goku from when he fought Raditz and Superman, put them on a planet with a red sun (takes away Supermans powers), Goku Probably would win. If you read the superman comics, then you know that Superman was beaten by an ordinary man in a fair boxing competition. Due to Gokus fighting experiance, and that Superman is just an ordinary man with a red sun - granted a very strong man - Goku probably could beat Superman. It may take some effort, but he could do it.

EDIT: Superman is not literal steel, The Man Of Steel is simply a metaphor for the fact that he is strong as steel. Of course, he is much stronger than steel, but metaphorically speaking, you know.

superman died at the hands of doomsday.
as with superhero novels/comics and tv/movie shows, nobody stays dead forever.
as they say, they will live again to fight another day!.
